kristyanismo Tanong

I need some sagot on how I feel.

I'm 16 yrs old. I am a born-again Christian. And what I want madami than anything in this world is to have a strong relationship with God, and Jesus. I know that it's good to be saved, but God wants to have a relationship with us. And I want that. I want to be closer to God. The one thing that I don't want God to say to me on judgment araw was that I was saved, but he never knew me. Does that strong relationship come through prayer and fasting and pagbaba the word? Because if it does, my prayer life needs to get alittle stronger. How can I have a strong relationship with God and get to know him for myself?

Well... for me, yes, prayer definitely is crucial for a strong relationship. pagbaba the Bible and really learning madami about Him will also help heaps. I think just being a good person, like helping others as much as you can, and trying to avoid sinning as much as possible and truly, truly loving God is what He wants you to do. Going to Church madami and getting involved should also help.

Sorry, I'm not too good at explaining this. Sorry if I didn't make sense.

I'm 17 and became born again about a taon and a half ago. I thought I was a Christian before but I wasn't really because I didn't have a relationship with God. To have a good relationship with him you have to read His word, the bible. And pray, talk to him like your talking to your best friend. It really helped me grow closer to Him sa pamamagitan ng surounding myself with fellow brothers and sisters of Christ and going to church and youth group to learn about him.
The best payo I can give you is to get to know him sa pamamagitan ng pagbaba your bible and pray that he will help you grow closer to him.

What you sinabi CAN help, but really, a relationship with God is not that complicated. If YOU feel close to God, and YOU feel like you have a good relationship, I'm sure God feels the same. The best thing you can do is pray about it. Im sure the answer will come to you. Or even ask your religious teacher. As long as you WANT a relationship with God, you will get it. "Seek, and ye shall find. Ask, and ye shall recieve. Knock, and the door will be opened to you."

Another thing that a lot of people get confused about is the 'works and deeds' bit. As Christians we know that no amount of good works will get us into Heaven. However many times Christians give the all too simple statement "faith alone will save you."

A few weeks nakaraan my pastor gave a sermon on different types of faith. He sinabi there is:
-Living faith
-Dead faith
-Demonic faith

Living faith is when we believe in Hesus and accept him as our Lord. There are some versions that say accept Him as our Savior. That's not really it. Hesus is your Savior, pure and simple. It's your choice whether or not to accept his rule over your life. Accepting Him as your Lord means obeying his commands and doing His work, that is what gets you to Heaven.

Dead faith is where non-believers are. They do not believe in God or Jesus. Their faith is 'dead'.

Then there is Demonic faith. This is the belief that God exists but still making the choice to continue on with sin and not to follow Him. It's the type of faith demons have. They know the power of God, but they still choose wrong. Their 'belief' in God is not getting them to Heaven.

It's like Hesus says in Luke 6:46-49:
“Why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say? As for everyone who comes to me and hears my words and puts them into practice, I will ipakita you what they are like. They are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built. But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.”

Or in Matthew 7:21-23 about False Disciples:
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’

The deeds themselves will not earn our passage into Heaven, but with Hesus as our Lord, God as our Father, we should follow His Will.
