I really enjoy the pasko season. I pag-ibig the pelikula that get played every year. I pag-ibig the pasko music radio station. I pag-ibig the lights. I pag-ibig the snow. I pag-ibig the togetherness. I pag-ibig the Claymation. I pag-ibig wrapping presents. I pag-ibig unwrapping presents. I pag-ibig making cards and presents for my mga kaibigan and my teachers. I pag-ibig going to the mall and finding the perfect gift. I pag-ibig going shopping with my friends. I pag-ibig the classroom pasko parties that are against school rules. I pag-ibig going to Petsmart with my mom to get medyas stuffers for my cats. I pag-ibig waking up early on pasko morning and being too excited to go back to sleep because you know how much everyone is going to pag-ibig their gifts. I pag-ibig not eating breakfast and going straight to the kendi in my stocking. I pag-ibig pagbaba the book my sister got me right away. I pag-ibig watching my Pusa play in the discarded wrapping part.

However, I do not pag-ibig Jesus. I don't hate Jesus. I am not a Christian and I have never met him so I have no reason to pag-ibig him. I feel it is disrespectful to Christians for me to celebrate part of the holiday. This is why I have come up with Giftmas. Giftmas is pasko for non-Christians. Giftmas is pasko without church, the nativity, or Silent Night. Giftmas stands for Everything pasko has come to stand for, but minus the religious stuff. There is also no egg nog for Giftmas, because egg nog is gross. Gift activities include Giftmas caroling, knitting Weasly sweaters, decorating a synthetic (aluminum optional) Giftmas tree, watching Giftmas movies, eating Giftmas cookies and pudding, dressing up your dog in a Giftmas sweater, going Giftmas shopping, getting drunk at the office Giftmas party, and spreading Giftmas cheer.

Celebrating Giftmas has opened the doors to celebrating many other religious holiday non-religiously. This taon I hope to celebrate Funuhkah, Leaster, and Feed.
