Damon & Elena Article: Delena Are Soulmates. I Have Proof!

This was partly inspired sa pamamagitan ng an amazing video I saw on YouTube yesterday entitled 'Soulmates', and an earlier artikulo SpuffyDelena posted about all the references in the music about DE being each other's 'home'. I looked through episodes in Season One and Two, to see if there were any madami hidden messages or parallels in their scenes and in the music, and this is what I found...

The Pilot Episode
When Bonnie touches Elena, she sees an image of Damon, not Stefan, even though Elena's encounter with Stefan is a much bigger deal.

Bonnie: When I touched you, I saw a crow.
Elena: What?
Bonnie: A crow. There was fog, and a man...

1x07 Elena: (speaking to Damon after Vicki is killed), You did this. This is your fault.

1x13 (In an 1864 flashback after Katherine is taken away) Damon sinabi to Stefan: You did this. This is your fault.

1x11 Damon: That's a little melodramatic, don't you think?
Elena: You're not funny!

Damon (speaking to Stefan in 2x02): You're not funny!

2x02 Elena: Damon's right, isn't he? It won't end well for her.
Stefan: No, I'm going to make sure he's wrong.

1x18: Damon: It is what it is Elena.

2x02 Elena (speaking to Stefan): It's no-one's fault, it is what it is.

Song playing in background of The Grill in 1x22 during DE scene, 'It Is What It Is' sa pamamagitan ng Lifehouse:
'Nothing to relive, it's water under the bridge
You sinabi it, I get it, I guess it is what it is.'

Damon sinabi to Elena in 1x17 about her wanting to put her life on the line to save Stefan:
'I know. I get it. I understand.'

1x14 Damon: I'm trusting you. Don't make me regret it.

1x22 Elena: Don't make me regret being your friend.

1x14 Damon: I didn't compell you in Atlanta because we were having fun. I wanted it to be real.

1x08: Lexi: When it's real, you can't walk away.

1x09 Stefan: Goodbye Elena.
Elena: You're just gonna walk away? Don't walk away Stefan!
(Stefan keeps walking.)

1x14 Elena: We have something. An understanding.

2x01 Damon: There is something going on between the two of us and you know it.

2x01 Katherine: You hate me, huh? That sounds like the beginning of a pag-ibig story Stefan not the end of one.

Elena: I hate him Stefan.

2x08 Damon: I don't deserve you. But my brother does. (Song heard in background 'I Was Wrong' sa pamamagitan ng Sleeperstar.)

The song played during SE's pag-ibig scene in 1x10, 'Cut' is about finding relief through pain. In other words, self-harm:

'The only anaesthetic that makes me feel anything kills inside.
I do not wanna be afraid
I do not wanna die inside just to breathe in,
I'm tired of feeling so numb
Relief exists I find it when I am cut.'

In comparison, the song 'All I Need' played during the Delena dance scene in 1x19 is about the redeeming power of love, and believing that pag-ibig can heal you:

'All my agony fades away when you hold me in your embrace,
Don't tear me down for all I need
Make my puso a better place
Give me something I can believe.'

Song played during SE scene at the lakehouse in 2x14, 'You Wait For Rain'
'You wait for rain and I chase the storm
We just don't see it the same way.'

Song heard in DE scene in the Grill (2x13) 'Stay'
'You say goodbye in the pouring rain
And I break down as you walk away,
Stay, stay.'

Damon after he tells Elena he loves her in 2x08 'I wish you didn't have to forget this. But you do.'

Damon to Andie in 2x13 'I'm in pag-ibig with a woman I can never have.'
Song heard in background 'Losing Your Memory' sa pamamagitan ng Darren Star: 'Wake up it's time, little girl, wake up
All the best of what we've done is yet to come
Wake up, its time little girl, wake up
Just remember who I am in the morning.'

In SE's break-up scene in 2x06, Elena said: I've been so selfish with you because I pag-ibig you so much...

In 2x08 Damon said: I pag-ibig you Elena. And it's because I pag-ibig you that I can't be selfish you.

Last year, Julie called SE 'The true, epic pag-ibig story of the show.' Kevin sinabi SE were 'Soulmates.' But are SE really the TRUE soulmates in 'The Vampire Diaries'?? I know what I think. How about you?

tellymaster *Sigh* This just made my day. It's really the little things that count. If only Elena would come to her senses and realize that she belongs with Damon...

DelenaLover I love all these little parallels. I like to think there intentional but who knows. Its hard to take SE srsly as the true epic love story when there really isn't much of a story in the first place. And to have a couple refer to themselves as epic in episode 2 of the 1st season seems to be trying to hard. As well as for the writers to say they're epic so soon is also pathetic because a lot of fans have agreed that no couple on the show is epic yet. Great article though! <3

Ianrocks Julie and Kevin are just mad that Delena is the top couple so they talk about how stelena are soulmates and epic and they belong together to get us to lose faith but that will never happen cause stelena is boring, predictable, no chemestry or passion at all just a boring no fun couple

SpuffyDelena That article that I posted about the 'Home' references, actually the credit goes to TwinFlamez :P But anyway, yeah JP/KW promote SE as 'soulmates' but there have been no hints or clues, or foreshadowing for that matter that they were/are. I wouldn't label DE as 'soulmates', but more Twin Flames. 1 because that's what they're referred to in the books, and 2 because Twin Flames are a LOT more intense then soulmates. Soulmates can be friends, brothers/sisters, a family member, an ex BF, anybody really. "A soulmate prepares you for your Twin Flame, and the intense journey you're about to take" is what I read somewhere. So soulmate I guess WOULD describe Stefan/Elena since he's just a stepping stone. DE = Twin Flames <3

Anna_JH Ohh the video on youtube is amazing, and so is your article (as always!) I'd like to think many of these are intentional. Especially with Stefan walking away, and how Damon and Elena have never done that with each other. Damon would never, ever walk away from her. If the writers are trying to throw people off Delena to boost the Stelena fan base which they seemed to think people would prefer, they're wrong. But personally I think they're just wanting to make them stretch out, so they're not rushing when they could have 4, 5, maybe 6 seasons of TVD. Too bad they've made DE so amazing, mehehehe.

Thoughts on stefan/SE:

Stefan is not who he appears in the Pilot. why season four has been the perfect timing for delena to happen .... first I want to say that I've never read the books so when I started to watch the ipakita I had no idea what it was about and it didn't occur to me that a pag-ibig tatsulok wil be formed.. especially one that includes the heroin and the "villain". as the ipakita went on I never bought the relationship between Stefan and Elena it was based on lies and secrets, and it was too rushed that I didn't see the " falling in pag-ibig " part ... at the same time I started to see Damon and Elena as mga kaibigan , they started to earn each others trust...

For all the people do don't want to see the ratings drop if we all quit watching. Or those who are confused about our loyalty to the show. We are not only watching this ipakita for Delena. I, personally, watch this for quite a few reasons and I'm sure many (if not most) other Delena fans do as well.

I am in pag-ibig with Vampire Diaries. However, it is my duty as a tagahanga to not stand aside and watch the writers and the fans of this spectacular ipakita make the biggest mistake ever! pag-ibig is a very passionate thing and no matter who Elena chooses in the end if she chooses stefan..... it will be the biggest mistake she will ever make in her life and for the Stelena fans..... you know I am write and you are probably thinking who the hell is this person Stefan is hot, well i will admit he is pretty hot, but pag-ibig depends on passion and how much a person connects and damon and elena have a relationship(besides the sire bond) that i am pretty sure any girl or maybe guy....... would kill for. so if the writers choose the wrong one i am sorry to say but they do not understand pag-ibig and that is a shame because this is the perfect pag-ibig story.

I asked myself why the Elena from the TV ipakita is so different from the Elena from the books. In the books, Elena is a spoiled highschool reyna at the beginning of the story and stays very bossy throughout the books, while Katherine is a docile and obedient Renaissance girl, until she becomes insane. And one reason for this change in the characters could be that it is easier to ipakita Delena’s development as twin flames. Because although it is not sinabi like in the books, all of the parallels of DE in the show, the fact that they are so much alike ("She already IS like me.") and everything else...

The Truth About Love: Why Elena's Logic in 4x01 Doesn't Make Sense

After watching the amazing "I remember everything" 4x01 scene and Damon's awesome speech defending his decision to save her first, even if Matt had died, something has been playing on my mind that I wanted to write about and share with you.
Elena's logic about Stefan respecting her because he listened to her, whereas Damon is selfish and couldn't let go doesn't make sense.
Quick re-run of 3x22: Elena values Matt's life before her's, and her decision is for Matt to be saved first, even if it means she dies in the process. Stefan doesn't like this. He wants to save Elena first, not Matt, but...

I think there are a multitude of purposes behind Damon not getting the girl...yet. First of all, she still has feelings for Stefan and their relationship problems this season have been over what Klaus did to Stefan and the effects it had on his character, not because of the relationship itself. So this relationship needs real closure, closure that can't be blamed on Klaus and their faithfulness to one another had to be rewarded.
