I've been re-watching S4, and in 4x18, Blair says that she 'saw her future' when she kissed Dan. I'm convinced that she knew then, who she was meant to be with, (hence the reason she called it 'life-changing'), and that's why she stayed in kama avoiding him. But she wasn't ready to face it, so she talked herself into the idea that the halik made her realise she should be with Chuck.
