[Eli/Clare]
Prologue

“Clare…I know something’s wrong.” Adam sinabi sitting beside his friend. Clare was staring into space. Her palms sweating and she felt weak. “Clare.” Adam sinabi again. Adam sighed and leaned farther back into his uncomfortable upuan in the cafeteria, where Clare and Adam were alone. Eli was nowhere in sight. Which was good for Clare; she didn’t want to tell him in front of Adam…at least not yet. “Clare!” he sinabi again. He finally gave up and bit into the plump, red mansanas that lay on his blue tray. Clare’s hands were shaking as she stared meaninglessly at nothing.
“Hey man…” She looked up to see Eli and Adam slapping hands. Eli looked at his girlfriend and kissed her cheek. “Hey Clay.” He sinabi and smiled at her. She forced a smile on her face and turned back down on her plate.
Suddenly she felt sick. She pushed back her chair quickly and ran out to the room. She ran into the woman’s bathroom. She caught a glimpse of Anya; in her blue and ginto Degrassi uniform, and Jenna who was stroking her baby bump. She was wearing a maternity black and white t-shirt with a flowey jean skirt.
She covered her mouth and knocked on the purple stall. It kicked open; nobody was in there. She leaned down and vomited in the toilet. She could hear heels clacking toward her stall. When Clare was done, she leaned her elbows against the toilet. Anya ran into the open stall and looked at Clare and then the toilet, then back at Clare. “Clare, are you alright?” Clare nodded her head, and said, “Can you get me a bottle of water?” Anya nodded and went outside to get a bottle of water out of the vending machine. When she came back Clare was looking through her bag. “Do you need me to take you to the nurse?” “No. Just tell the nurse I got sick and Eli’s taking me home?” “Sure, yeah…if there’s anything you need…just call.” Clare nodded and got off the bathroom floor and went back into the kitchen.
Eli was talking to Adam; both of them looked nervous as Clare grabbed Eli sa pamamagitan ng the shoulder and walked him out to his car. “Are you okay, Clare?” he asked. He pushed back a piece of her hair and stroked her cheek. “I have s-something to t-tell you.” She said. He nodded as she said, “I’m pregnant…” His mouth gaped open.
