In light of the actual “fairy tale trend” in TV and movie, I recently realized how much the Disney pelikula have “taken over” the fairy tales they are based on, and how few people actually know the story they are based on. Because of this, I’ll compare the Disney-Version with the pinagmulan text, and I’ll recommend a few other adaptations I really like. I’ll only take a look at the fairy tales – meaning I’ll skip Pocahontas and Mulan, since they are not part of my culture. Perhaps someone who grew up with those stories is ready to do a small piece about them?

Considering that Disney seems to stay very close to the pinagmulan text, they actually changed quite a lot about Snow White’s story. First of all, they skipped the beginning. In that one, the reyna (the good one) is sitting in the winter at the window stitching. She stings herself in the finger, and three drops of blood fall in the snow. This inspires her to wish for a child, as white as snow, as red as blood and as black as ebony (like her stitching or the window frame, that’s not really clear). Then she dies shortly after Snow White’s birth. To defend Disney: The original Fairy Tale never explains what happens to the father; after he remarries, he just vanishes from the story. When the main story starts, Snow White is only seven (numbers are somewhat important, the three and the seven turns up a couple of times). She never sings into a wishing well, and she never meets the prince before the hunter is send out to murder her (and again, he also just vanishes from the story). Snow White does not clean the tahanan of the dwarves, in fact she (quite rudely) rummages through the house, sits on the chair of one of them, eats the tinapay of another – I spare you the details. The dwarves (who don’t have names or different personalities) come home, discover what she has done and then find her in one of the beds, and she live with them from that point onward – it’s not really clear how long, but the Evil reyna turns up at her doorstep three times to kill her. With a bodice she puts so tight around Snow Whites body that she nearly suffocates, with a poisoned comp and finally with the apple. Two times the dwarves come tahanan in time, the third time they are too late, and they put Snow White in the coffin. A prince hears about the beautiful maid in the coffin, visits her and is so fascinated sa pamamagitan ng her beauty, that he convinces the dwarves to give him the coffin (why he wants to stare at the death body, never mind how beautiful it is, I really don’t want to guess). THERE IS NO KISS! When the dwarves transport the coffin, one stumbles, and a piece of mansanas with was lodged in Snow White throat falls out. She awakes, marries the prince, and when the Evil reyna hears from her mirror that the young bride is madami beautiful than her, she comes to the wedding. There she is forced to dance glowing iron shoes until she is death (compared to that falling down, getting crushed and getting eaten sa pamamagitan ng vultures sounds like the better alternative).

There have been a lot of discussions in which country the movie is set. My answer is: In Disney Fairy Tale Land. The architecture of the kastilyo and the disensyo of the dwarves’ house would fit in some parts of Germany or German speaking countries like Switzerland, no question. But the wildlife does not. The only kind of pagong you can find (rarely) in Germany is much smaller and can’t stay out of the water for any length of time. Reptiles are not exactly common in general, considering the cold climate, especially not alligators. Chipmunks are native to Asia and North America, Bluebirds live only in America. And those are just the most obvious examples. Not that I blame Disney (much). Back then, it would have been impossible to do a trip to Germany, and it's easier to draw what you have seen in reality than to rely on pictures.

A word about the dwarves: There is sometimes a little bit confusion, because the pamagat says dwarves, while in the movie they are referred to as “little people”. I’m not sure if either word really has the same connotation for an English speaking audience, as the word “Zwerg” has for the German one. If we hear “Zwerg” we tend to think about the Snow White Characters and about “Gartenzwerge” – known in English as “garden gnomes”. I suspect both translations used for the movie are somewhat right and somewhat wrong.

I’ve to say, I dislike most of the adaptations of the story, especially those who emphasize the gothic aspect. But there is one beside of the one from Disney I really like: The German version from 1955. It might not be political correct nowadays, because one of the added characters is a stereotypical black servant boy, but it has it’s very own charm overall. It’s very close to the pinagmulan text; the only thing they changed is Snow White’s age, the death of the reyna and roles of the Hunter and the Prince got expanded to avoid some of the plot holes. In this regard, I think, this version is actually better than the Disney one – less characters who just fade into the background. To my great surprise, I discovered that there actually is an English dubbed version of it (not a good one, but better than nothing), it was even issued on DVD. If you’re interested, you can watch it here:

Dungeons & Dragons (or D&D for short) is a super fun tabletop roleplaying game that's been around since the 1970s but has recently gained a fair bit of popularity. I've been playing the game for around eight years at time of writing, and I strongly recommend you give it a try if you ever get the chance. It's really an absolute blast! D&D has always been one of my paborito hobbies, but within the last two years it's become an even bigger part of my life. Since I've been having so much fun with it recently, I decided it was finally time to try something I'd always wanted to do: turning...

" Punz, have you ever wondered why I don't cut your hair?"
Disney's "Tangled" was such a good movie that Gusot had great characters. Of course, my paborito was Rapunzel, but I also loved mother Gothel. It's weird that I don't like mother Gothel. Because I hated every bad guy except Audrey and Hades. Audrey and Hades had points that sounded similar and logical to me. For example, Audrey was stabbed in the back and Hades was wronged, and it was funny, so I loved them both.

I've watched Gusot about seven times, and it's only the seventh time I've come to pag-ibig mother Gothel. After all, Gothel was separating Rapunzel from her family, using her, and raising...

Ariel blonde, so pretty! Prettier then Belle and Aurora!
My last artikulo was about the eye mga kulay of Disney princesses, but today I'm focusing on the hair. Ariel has red hair that no princess has ever had. Red hair looks great on Ariel, but blonde hair... It bumagay her better than red hair. Blonde hair pairs perfectly with her light blue eyes. Straw yellow color is the best! Here are some gifs that prove it now.
This time with black eyes but still amazingly beautiful

 I pag-ibig HER!
I LOVE HER!
My listahan of paborito Disney Princesses has undergone a slight change. Moreover, this time I will start from 12, not 10.

12- Merida
The only princess I hate is Merida. Actually, she was one of my paborito princesses for a while, but as I got older, I started to dislike her. And right now Merida is at the worst place on my list.
Merida fans: Crying
Those who don't like Merida: Happy
I don't like Princess Merida because she thinks illogically and ruins her life despite her mother's efforts.

11- Aurora
Well Aurora is a much loved princess and I know you adore her but I... I don't like her very much. She...

Snow White has never been pretty to me. Princesses like Elsa, Anna, Aurora and Belle have always been beautiful to me. Snow White was the ugliest to me, the ugliest. Even uglier than princesses like Merida, Mulan, and Kida. I don't understand how they call Snow White "the fairest of all people" in the movie.

Things that make Snow White ugly:

Snow White's neck looks combined with her head.

The shape of Snow White's hair is so ugly, it's like a cotton kendi that doesn't look realistic at all.

Snow White's nose is sometimes not visible

These princess eyes are scary and the pupils don't fit in her eyes.

His eyebrows are thin

_____________________________________________________

Oh my god, she's so ugly except for her crimson lips and rosy cheeks! In the movie, either the mirror was broken or the movie was. Snow White is so ugly! Duh should make it to the listahan of the ugliest in the world!
I believe in pag-ibig at first sight, but it sounds ridiculous and isn't exactly love. pag-ibig at first sight often happens with classic princesses:
1- Snow White
2- Cinderella
3- Ariel

These princesses fall in pag-ibig the first time they see it, but that's ridiculous because you can't fall in pag-ibig with someone you've just seen. Actually, that might be it, but it just depends on the prince being handsome. Snow White fell in pag-ibig with her prince the moment she saw him, and that was just for the prince's appearance. That's why I don't like pag-ibig at first sight in DP movies.

In Frozen, one of my paborito Disney...

Almost every Aurora tagahanga hates Princess Audrey. I will explain to you why:
"Because it looks like Aurora raised Audrey to be a bad person"
No, neither Aurora nor Audrey had any fault in this. Audrey was choosing to be bad just because her puso broke. If Ben had chosen Audrey over Mal, then Audrey would still be good.

Seriously, don't you pity Audrey, heartless? Wouldn't your puso break if your boyfriend suddenly left you and started dating someone else?

Moreover, there was a small detail in the song "Queen of Mean". In one of the many pictures in Audrey's room, the childhood mga litrato of Ben and...

The most beautiful princesses are my paborito princesses, Elsa and Anna. Third, there's Belle. This artikulo is about ugly princesses. I'll rank them from least ugliest to ugliest.

4- Mulan
Mulan isn't that ugly, she just has thick eyebrows when she's a man. Mulan's eyes are so ugly without makeup. If Mulan had stayed with make-up and long hair throughout the movie, she wouldn't be on this list.

3- Merida
The only thing I pag-ibig about Merida is her long curly kahel hair. His face and eyes are very round.

2- Kida
Kida's hair is white and her bangs are crooked. Also, her bangs are rectangular, which...

10- Princess Mulan
Just being in the bottom of my list, doesn't make her VERY ugly. How can I say she is just... Less prettiest. I pag-ibig her black hair and her eyes are pretty OK for me, but her eyebrows... They are very thick especially when she becomes a boy.
Also, her eyebrows are raised a lot higher than they should be, which makes her pretty ugly.

9- Princess Merida
I just adore the color and curve of her hair. But her face and eyes are too round. Especially her eyes. OMG, her eyes are like some strange balls. Her smile isn't ugly, but her teeth are very small.

8- Princess Esmeralda

Hello Disney Princess Fans!

First let me apologize for being so bit late getting the artikulo up this time, and explain what happened. Along with the business of the holiday season there was a family emergency. In mid-January my Dad came down with Covid-19 and had to be hospitalized for over a week. Fortunately he's back tahanan and doing better now. But as you can imagine I didn't feel much like writing, nor did I have the time while that was going on.

Anyway, before we get started let me give you a brief run down of the Meet the DP fans articles, in case you happen to new to the club and/or unfamiliar...

She's gentle, kind, and clumsy and is bravo enough to stand up to Clayton even when he has a gun -BB2010

I pag-ibig how awkward yet interesting she is; I admire her bravery and empathy, and I like how she has a talent for drawing and curiosity for the jungle life. I pag-ibig her relationship with Tarzan, one of my paborito Disney couples; her disensyo is really pretty as well -WhiteLagoon13

Everything! She is smart, she is dedicated to her work, but I also pag-ibig that her "damsel" moments are the result of her being in an unfamiliar situation, and that she learns to adjust to her new environment sa pamamagitan ng the end of the movie. -Swanpride
1. Congrats on being tagahanga of the Month! How does it feel?
Thank you!! I am very honored and I feel very excited because this is the first time I'm tagahanga of the Month.

2. How did you find this spot and what made you stay?
I'm a big tagahanga of anime, I remember watching “Fushigi Yuugi” at that time. I was obsessed with Tasuki. I still like him (but I don't get obsessed anymore, LOL). Anyway, I was looking for pictures and screenshots of him. That's how I found Fanpop. My reasons for staying? Because I like to participate in activities (polls, quizzes, answers), I made good friends, I pag-ibig sharing...

Okay, as promised! Here is the comparison both the 1998 animated feature as well as the 2020 live action reboot. Ready?

The Story

So we start of with the Invasion of the Huns in the animated film, as well as reporting the invasion to the Emperor. We see Mulan getting ready for the Matchmaker later on.
In the live action version, we see Mulan's childhood and even has a sister who is specially created for the film mainly for character developments. (tied)

The Characters

We get to see Mushu in the animated version, this is due to comic relief for the entire movie. He, Cri-Kee and Little Brother...

What I pag-ibig the most about Mulan is she's someone who was trained for battle but instead of depending on weapons to win the war, she uses strategy. It shows that you don't always have to rely on brute strength or weapons to win, you can use your own brain. It really bums me out that people forget that about Mulan and just remember her for learning how to fight. -BB2010

I pag-ibig her bravery, perseverance and how she's willing to disguise as a man and go off to war to save her father. -LMH5113

I pag-ibig Mulan's pag-ibig for her family. She loved her family so much that she would risk her own life to save...
