In 2013 nagyelo took the world sa pamamagitan ng (ice) storm, it was everywhere. Let it Go played on the radio constantly, you couldn't go to a store without seeing nagyelo merch, everyone was talking about it, many thought it was one of Disney's best pelikula in a long time.

Then the backlash began...

People got sick of all the nagyelo after a while, even now there's still nagyelo all over the place and people tend to roll their eyes when someone even mentions Frozen. The thing is, nothing about the movie or characters had changed, it was still a good movie with a decent soundtrack, interesting characters, and beautiful animation. But with all the hype it had gotten...yeeeeah Disney really milked this nagyelo cow.

When Disney announced a nagyelo 2 there were some mixed reactions; groans from people who were tired of sequels and nagyelo and cheers from people who hoped they would finally learn how Elsa got her powers *cough*andgetagirlfriend*cough*. When nagyelo 2 came out of course tons of people went to see it and after waiting almost a month, avoiding the spoilers best I could, hearing Into the Unknown several times and how great this movie was I finally saw it and...well...here's my thoughts.

Pros:

In this movie we got to see madami of the sisters with their parents in a madami positive way, with the scene taking place before the "incident". Elsa and Anna play with snow figurines, the King tells a story about the enchanted forest, and the reyna (who now has madami lines) sings a lullaby to the sisters. The parents are mainly remembered for making the rashi decision of locking Elsa up and keeping her away from people, including Anna, for years so it was nice to see madami scenes of them with their daughters.

We got to see even madami of Elsa and Anna together, having barely seen them together in the first movie, seeing them celebrate Anna's birthday together in nagyelo Fever, and a few short scenes in Olaf's nagyelo Adventure. We see them playing charades, talking more, and Anna sings their mother's lullaby to Elsa to help her go to sleep. This is something I wish we could have actually seen in nagyelo to even justify the fandom's belief that nagyelo was the go-to "sister movie" *cough*LiloandStitch*cough* (sorry, just getting over a cold)

The animation for this movie was beautiful, especially the ice magic, the way the leaves moved, and the purple pinkish flames. I think my paborito animation sequence had to have been Into the Unknown when Elsa's magic danced around and took on different forms. My segundo paborito was ipakita Yourself when Elsa's dress was changed similar to how her signature blue dress was created in the first movie.

Olaf's brief recap of the first movie had me laughing hard, not gonna lie.

Yay, we saw halaman ng masmelow and the little snowmen from nagyelo Fever again!

Cons:

The twist about the Queen's past was so completely out of nowhere and makes almost no sense; for one thing, the little girl we've been seeing in the trailers looks nothing like how the reyna looked or even Elsa or Anna who are supposed to be the spitting larawan of their mother. And the fact that she saved the King and then just left her tahanan without hesitating? What about her family? How is it the people recognized the scarf and yet not discuss the young reyna at all? And what did the young reyna do after moving to the kingdom? Where did she go? Did she live with the King? Probably not because later in the movie when Elsa is watching "the past" we catch a glimpse of the King and the reyna as adults and she's telling him where she's from.

Olaf in the first movie was funny, his one liners could get a chuckle out of a lot of people. In this movie he's just stating walang tiyak na layunin facts and I barely chuckled at his jokes or his lines. I can understand his need to spout walang tiyak na layunin facts because, for one thing, he's only 3 years old and he's learning how to read and how to write. When young children learn things like Olaf did they tend to spout walang tiyak na layunin facts and whatever else they learned. But in this movie, it just Nawawala its charm after a while. And his song just put the movie in a grinding halt. While in the first movie it was charming and cute and funny and it was about a recently built Olaf wanting to see what summer was like and feel the sun on his snowy face. In nagyelo 2, it was just him randomly pag-awit about how things would make madami sense when he was older and honeslty it probably would have worked better in a short than in the actual movie.

Kristoff wanting to propose to Anna was an overdone and predictable story. There was the miscommunication, the constant failed attempts, and the arguments. Disney, come on, I thought you were better than that.

As great as it was that we got sagot about how Elsa got her powers it just raised madami questions; Why did Elsa get frozen? What exactly was the Voice? Was it the spirits? Her mother? How could Elsa have been the 5th element if she wasn't even born yet? Etc.

While it's understandeable why Elsa kept Anna and Olaf from coming with her, why did Anna and Olaf talk about feeling upset about what happened and have it go nowhere? Why couldn't Anna talk to Elsa about how she felt about that?

What was Kristoff on when he decided to do an 80's music video?

I loved the apoy spirit but I was disappointed about how he got the Pua treatment; advertised a lot and on a lot of merch but then barely in the movie.

While I sometimes forget about half of Frozen's soundtrack, I can barely remember madami than a handful of nagyelo 2's soundtrack. I remember humming Let it Go and For the First Time in Forever the night I saw nagyelo 6 years nakaraan but right now the only songs I remember at the tuktok of my head is the Queen's lullaby, Into the Unknown, ipakita Yourself, and Kristoff's song but the only reason I remember that last one is because of the reindeer drug trip.

Anna becoming reyna just felt so out of nowhere, there was no real discussion for it. I get that Elsa wanted to look after the forest and we know she and Anna still saw each other but still though, why make Anna becoming reyna such an out of nowhere and rushed thing?

The fact that we find out the guards and the villagers were trapped in the woods at war with each other for over 30 years and yet learn almost nothing about them was so dumb. We barely got any backstory on them and we never learned how the guards got left behind while the young King was able to make it tahanan unconscious.

How was the dam hurting the forest and the spirits?

So was this movie as good as Frozen? Honestly, from a nagyelo fan...no. As excited as I was to see nagyelo 2, especially with my older sister after we had just spent Halloween dressed as Elsa and Anna, I felt so...bored. I saw nagyelo in theaters 3 times and watched it many madami times on dvd without getting bored (save for the last time I watched it a couple months ago) but this movie just feels one and done for me. This movie had interesting ideas that could have been fleshed out madami but were instead rushed and left madami tanong than answers. I still pag-ibig nagyelo but I'm thinking I'm just going to avoid this sequel. On a scale of 1-10, I give this movie a 3/10

But I will say this...Frozen 2 was much better than Ralph Breaks the Internet
