Hi guys, I just want to let you know that I got to see Mulan a few days nakaraan and like Beauty and the Beast. I have mixed feeling about this live action reboot, so here is my review on the movie that was postpone on numerous occasions due to the COVID-19.
The Story
I was really quite happy with a number of changes in the film, like we get to see Mulan's childhood madami like what we see in Cinderella. I am very happy that she has a sister to talk to, to which I will get to that part later on!
Secondly, she does provide comic relief while in the army along with the soldiers. Whom the latter did not pick on her when they first met each other, they immediately strike up a friendship.
Speaking of the army, they are also ibingiay much stricter rules in a contrast to the animated feature. Mulan was also expelled, despite this, she immediately reported to the Captain upon hearing of Bori Khan and his clan coming to the capital. So that, is a huge change from the animated version itself!
The Characters
In the animated version, Mulan's surname is Fa Mulan for the sake of pronunciation. Her surname was change back to Hua Mulan for the sake of historical accuracy, to which I can't blame the producers for it! In a way it's good, because we get to know madami about her culture now that Chinese history is fascinating as well.
As mentioned, she has a sister to whom she can interact with instead of making her an only child, unlike the animated version. Despite the fact the younger sister plays a minor role in it.
Although Captain Shang makes no appearance in the reboot, his personality traits are that of 2 new characters called Chen Honghui and Commander Tung. The latter is madami calm and much like Captain Von Trapp from the Sound of Music!
Another new character Xianniang, somehow she reminds of Maleficent due to her association with crows! She was madami of an anti-hero to say the least, mainly because she secretly supported Mulan in a way.
Shan Yu was rename as Bori Khan, who is madami of a fictionalised version (or a descendant) of Genghis Khan. His motivation is also like Attila the Hun, the Scourge of God. Bori Khan is madami vicious than Shan Yu and has madami screen time as well.
Finally, the Emperor's advisor is very much like the Duke from Cinderella, who had secretly conspire with the Mongols to invade the palace.
The Music
Throughout the movie, we hear the instrumental version of Reflection, the theme song for both 1998 and the animated versions.
Christina Aguilera recorded a brand new song called Loyal bravo True, she even rerecorded Reflection, which she also sang for the 1998 version which boasted her pag-awit career!

So, there you have it! My review on the 2020 reboot and I will write down a comparison with the 1998 animated film as well soon.

freeze, freeze, go away
come again another day
icicles, icicles
they all fall down
sister, sister
where are you dearest
freeze will come
and breeze you away
i can freeze
you can freeze
we all freeze for ice cream
11 users has voted in the poll: 'Will you add some songs for the Eurovision Songcontest Disney Princesses Theme?' Almost the half of the users has sinabi 'no' the others has voted 'maybe'. want to change the part of adding songs in the contest and want to. do it with polls. The best three songs from each movie joins the contest. This is just an idea, maybe I'm just impatient. If there is enthousiasm and users add songs. I won't change it. But it's likely that, that won't happen. So I'm preparing now to the other way of selecting songs for the contest. I hope you will vote in the contest! It's my first contest on Fanpop!
It Should Have Been in the Film
I personally think that it should be in the film, it could be sung as duet between either for Hans & Anna, Kristoff & Anna or Anna & Elsa. But most likely latter, because it's like Anna is telling her sister to pag-ibig again after years of being estranged.
It Should Not Be in the Film
Due to the time constraint of the film, I was partially glad that this song did not make it to the song. Wish it was anyway, it also gives the Lopez a chance to umakda a new song despite that they did the Winnie the Pooh movie previously.
Love Can't Be Denied
So what are your thoughts about this song? To be or not to be, that is the question!
1) The Prince and the Pauper
I know that Disney had made this starring Mickey Mouse, if there was a Princess version of it. It would be a good idea, the story setting will set in either South Korea or Japan.
The story will be 100% faithful towards its original story sa pamamagitan ng Mark Twain.
2) The Man in the Iron Mask
I pag-ibig this story very much, since watching the 1998 version with Leonardo Di Caprio in it. They will base it on the 1998 version, with the exception that the evil twin redeems himself in the end. Making the first twin princesses to become 2 queens and will rule the country with pag-ibig and peace, making them the 2 beloved Queens.
Conclusion
Since I only have 2 suggestions as listed, if there are anymore suggestions. Please feel free to add madami in the comments.
