Snow White ___________________________

In the beginning of the Grimm's Tale Schneewittchen, Snow White's mother pricks her finger with a sewing needle and three drops of her blood fall onto the snow which lay on the ebony windowsill. Oddly enough, this made her long for a daughter of a similar color scheme. While this reflects the arc of the story: (white)innocence, (red)maturity & love, and (black)death, her name particularly represents a season when the world metaphorically sleeps only to be inevitably awakened with the coming of spring.

_______________________________ Cinderella

Omitted from the Disney version of the fairytale, Sinderella was actually the cruel nickname ibingiay to her sa pamamagitan ng her stepsisters for sitting at the dying cinders of the apoy after her long days work. Cinderella's real name is never mentioned. Cinders have a number of symbolic meanings from being merely a pinagmulan of warmth and a hidden apoy to represent rebirth in the story of the Firebird or Phoenix. In myth, the creature would die in the fiery blaze of its nest only to rise again reborn from the ashes signifying a rise to glory from the lowest of places.

Aurora ________________________________

Latin for "light" or "dawn", Aurora is her royal name ibingiay sa pamamagitan ng her parents. It may be stated in the film that this was "because she filled their lives with sunshine" but its also fitting for this princess since dawn is the time when the sleeping world awakes. It's no accident that she falls asleep at dusk and awakes upon sunrise. Incidentally one may recall her "hair of sunshine gold" but her "lips that shame the red red rose" are madami linked to her segundo name.

Briar Rose ________________________________

Briar Rose, a pseudonymn ibingiay sa pamamagitan ng her fairy godmothers also has poetic meaning. The first word BRIAR, a mass of thorny plants obviously makes sense with the story's motif but a rose also has numerous conotations. mga rosas have represented love, beauty, virtue, femininity, and virginity hence why it is also a symbol of the Virgin Mary. But a briar rose is a thing of beauty surrounded sa pamamagitan ng harsh thorny bramble -- much like Aurora herself in the kastilyo surrounded sa pamamagitan ng the forest of thorns.

__________________________________ Ariel

Ariel's name probably has the most mysterious of origins but there are two possible sources that equally make sense. Song writers Alan Menken and Howard Ashman (both of Jewish heritage) had a surprising amount of creative input in the story having named several of Ariel's sisters. This could leave reason to suspect they may have also suggested the name Ariel, Hebrew for "Lion of God". Lions are well known symbols of strength and courage.

The segundo possibility which actually ties into the first is the connection to the word 'ARIA'. Hebrew for "lioness". However in Italian it means "air" and is a musical term for a solo vocal piece with a light instrumental accompaniment. This probably makes the most sense considering music, and not lions, is the most obvious if not significant factor in Ariel's story.

Belle ________________________________

The most straight pasulong of names, Belle is literally French for "beauty". Granted this makes sense since Belle's character is meant be physically attractive. However beauty is not just restricted to our visual sense but can encompass all the senses and even that of our spirit. Intended to contrast the physical ugliness of the beast, Belle's purpose in the story is ultimately to transform the beast's soul to match the beauty of her own. She is everything the beast must aspire to be.

________________________________ Jasmine

Most people assume hasmin is merely a reference to the hasmin bulaklak and to a certain degree it is. hasmin is actually indigenous to the Middle East. Known as "yasmine" to the natives, the bulaklak is so pleasantly fragrant that the name translates to "gift from God" in Arabic. In the western world it can represent sensuality, elegance, and modesty -- a particular virtue Aladdin or Ali Ababwa must obtain to win the puso of the princess.

Pocahontas _________________________

Pocahontas is unique being that she is the only Disney Princess whom we know actually existed. Historically she is known sa pamamagitan ng three separate names. Powhattan for "little mischief", Pocahontas was actually a nickname ibingiay to her because of her precocious and playful nature. Her real name was Matoaka or "bright stream between the hills". This can easily be linked to her affinity for rivers in the film. Her third name Rebecca, which she adopted after being baptized, is Hebrew for "to bind or bring together" and this is exactly what she did for her people and the Jamestown settlers.

___________________________________ Mulan

The story of Mulan is not a fairytale but a legend potentially based on real events of a woman named Hua Mulan which literally translates to "flower wood orchid", or the magnolia. Magnolias are a symbol of perseverance and nobility. The film makes reference to this in the scene when Mulan and her father sit beneath the magnoliya tree. Her father subtly parallels his daughter to a late magnoliya [mulan] blossom and how it will one araw be the most beautiful of all.

Tiana ___________________________________

Potentially derived from the Greek word 'TIANI' meaning "princess", being a popular name among African-Americans it may be fitting that the first black Disney Princess was named Tiana. However this was not her first name choice. Originally her name was Maddy but was deemed too racially insensitive. This is odd since Maddy is short for Madeline derived from Magdeline. Mary Magdeline was a friend of Hesus and only disciple strong enough to witness his crucifixion and the first to witness his resurrection -- a woman who went on a long journey and acheived a great spiritual transformation.

_______________________________ Rapunzel

Also known as "rampion" or "bellflower", rapunzel is an edible plant. In the Grimm's Tale, it was specifically this plant that a poor man estola from a witch's garden to feed his pregnant wife. As punishment, the witch took the poor couple's daughter and raised her away in a tower without any doors or stairs. This plant is not only beautiful but is also noted for its ability to grow in very inhospitable soils. Rapunzel is very much like her namesake plant in that she too flourishes in beauty, kindness and curiosity despite being locked away in a cruel world. (she will also be the first Disney Princess who's main color is purple.)
I've already written artikulo on my paborito princesses and action scenes, and now the countdow is about the "I want" songs. That's one of my paborito moments in all DP movies. hasmin doesn't have any solo song, so I didn't include her in the countdown.

Please notice I considered the scenes as a whole, not only the song.

9. Snow White - "Someday my prince will come"
This song is short, and it doesn't help that it's showed in the middle in the movie - It doesn't add nothing about Snow White's personality. It also doesn't help that she sang it sitting on a chair, that forbidded the animation...

Someone in the Disney merchandise department seems to have decided that Belle’s bulaklak is the rose – a decision I don’t really agree with. Yes, I know, the rose is featured very prominently in the movie. But it’s not really a symbol for Belle; it’s a symbol the need of the Beast to find true love. Which is, btw, the meaning of red roses: True Love. Seeing Belle as the rose, she would be symbolically under glass for the whole movie, and that doesn’t suit her character at all. In fact, shortly after the Beast puts the glass over his rose possessively, Belle flees from the castle....

So .. since this whole countdowns going on here, which i don't like half of them, and since i don't like how the countdown about this is going since it's very rigged, i wanted to make my own listahan of my fave DP hairstyles, this is my tuktok DP hairSTYLES, not hair.

10 : Mulan's low ponytail
It's cute, i just like it, it's my fave look of Mulan, i don't like the bulaklak thing on her head, her dad not a good hairstyler, the low ponytail makes her look .. idk, nice, comfortable.

9 : Rapunzel's Short Hair
so this is unpopular opinion, i actually prefer her short Brown hair over her Blond one,...

I have been wanting to umakda a listahan of my paborito Princess outfits for a very long time, but honestly haven't had enough time to put a lot of effort into it. I decided to finally set aside some time to write it, and I discovered how difficult it would be to choose which outfits I really like best. So, to make it a little easier for myself, I decided to write it in three parts; Casual Wear, Formal Wear and Bridal Wear. It's still going to be hard, but I figured this would help. There are nineteen outfits in part one of my article.

19. Mulan's Armor
I originally did not include this outfit,...

In my wildest dreams, you always play the hero. In my darkest oras of night, you rescue me, you save my life
In my wildest dreams, you always play the hero. In my darkest oras of night, you rescue me, you save my life

I originally wrote this artikulo a taon ago, which was obviously before Gusot was released. This countdown was much longer; I included 26 moments in this one, and only 9 in the last. I wanted to make sure ALL of the "romantic" moments were included!

26. Mulan: Would You Like To Stay For Dinner?
pag-ibig at first sight is possible, but it pays to take a segundo look. ~Author Unknown
Love at first sight is possible, but it pays to take a segundo look. ~Author Unknown

As great as a movie as Mulan is, the only thing missing from it is romance...which is sort of a no-brainer...

Hi everyone. So I know there are many other prettiest princesses countdowns, but I haven´t done mine so I decided to go for it. This is based on my opinion and not on picks done here, and for the record I think all of the princesses are very pretty. Also my opinion on this issue changes a lot, but for now these are my tuktok most beautiful princesses.

10.Rapunzel
I think she is very cute. I pag-ibig her hair (both as a blonde and as a brunette) and her lips. Her smile is also very nice, but her eyes are just a little too big for my taste, the color is nice though. Her head also looks a little big....

Beast dies but is turned back into a human
Beast dies but is turned back into a human
I pag-ibig how in some pelikula that Disney does features someone dying it kinda makes the story of the film somehow sad and emotional. So here are my tuktok 4 favourite almost death scenes. SPOILERS AHEAD

# 4Snow White getting poisoned with the poison apple: This has to be the weirdest scene I have seen in a Disney movie I mean getting poisoned sa pamamagitan ng an mansanas how stupid is that and I thought she died and went to heaven as the kastilyo was like in the skies.

#3 John Smith getting shot sa pamamagitan ng Radcliff: This one I was so shocked when I seen this as it was so emotional and very sad. I like how John asks Pocahontas...

This movie is my paborito disney movie. It will always have a special place in my heart. I don't think disney can come up a better movie. Everytime I watch it, it does something to me that no other disney movie does. I don't know how to explain it. It makes me feel all happy inside when it's over. The part when Snow White dies and all the dwarfs and forrest mga hayop gather at Snow Whites coffin and cry makes me cry everytime. Another reason, it's so special to me is because it's disneys original movie. I absolutely adore all the charecters in the movie. It has my paborito princess (Snow White),...

I don't understand why a lot of users on fanpop don't seem to like Cinderella. I think she is overlooked. People think she just sits around and does nothing but I think there is madami to her than that. I think she is a strong character tho not as strong as the newer heroines such as Belle & Jasmine. I pag-ibig Cinderella's optimistic attitude & she works hard to get what she wants. I think she is smart. She is mature. She is kind. It amazes me that she still has a positive attitude after all those yrs of being abused sa pamamagitan ng her step family. I wish I can be as positive as she was. I think Sinderella is a stronger character than Snow White & Aurora. I think she is the strongest out of the classic heroines.

9. Evil Queen, Once again something related to Snow White is in last place, but for once that's a good thing.

8. Maleficent, as beautiful as she is on the outside, she is only a devil inside. I guess the reason why she didn't get eliminated first was because she was green.

7. Gaston, considered the most attractive male villain, but some consider him either too buff or too hairy.

6. Lady Tremaine, some find her to be quite lovely for her age, others see her as a mean, ugly hag.

5. Dr. Facilier, he's just considered to be a normal looking guy. Some say he's good looking, others don't.

4. Ursula,...

Princess: Ariel

Art Style: Disney Renaissance / Neo Classicism

As the first Disney film of the Disney Renaissance, in a way this film epitomizes the look of the modern animated feature. While The Little Mermaid defies and pangkalahatang classification, it does however reference a number of pre-existing artworks.

The story of the Little Mermaid had become so popular in the early 1900s that a ballet was written. Shortly after, artist link was commissioned to sculpt the story's main character in bronze. While...
