As the majority know, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was Walt Disney's first feature length animated film, therefor giving us our first Disney Princess. There are a variety of different films, fairy tales, animations and stylistic genres that seemed to blend together to make this very historic piece of cinema.

 Betty Boop & Snow White
Betty Boop & Snow White
Many believe that Disney was directly inspired to make the film due to the success of the Betty Boop short of the fairy tale. This is relatively believable, ibingiay that the Betty Boop short was released in 1933 a taon prior to Disney's adaption coming into development and production. It should also be noted that Grim Natwick, who is most famous for drawing Fleischer Studio's Betty Boop was also a lead animator for Disney's Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, which is probably the reason that the two heroines share such similar visual qualities, significantly the cropped black hairstyle as well as the highly overt high pitch, sweet tone to their voices. Most noticeably the characteristics, mannerisms and the way they both represent exaggerated 1930's idealised women also make me realise how similar they both are.

 Snow White (1916)
Snow White (1916)
Another Snow White adaption that I think Disney drew ideas from was a 1916 American silent feature. However minor, I think the two Snow Whites share particular mannerisms and the illustrations of the dwarfs on the silent pelikula poster seems like a base to the visual appearance of Disney's take on the secondary characters. Additionaly I thought it was interesting that this adaption gave the story's pag-ibig interest a name, deemed Prince Florimond.

 Romeo & Juliet (1936)
Romeo & Juliet (1936)
Not only was Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs inspired sa pamamagitan ng films that where directly based on the fairy tale, but rather where based on much different films as well. MGM's live action Romeo & Juliet, which was released a taon prior to the final release of the Disney film was also an inspiration. This was a film that Disney made direct reference in a story meeting pertaining to the scene in which Snow White lies in her glass coffin. I think that the meetings between Snow White and The Prince became symbols of book ends for the narrative of the film rather than being the back bone in the story like in Romeo & Juliet.

The Sleeping Beauty sa pamamagitan ng Sir Edward Burne-Jones
The Sleeping Beauty sa pamamagitan ng Sir Edward Burne-Jones
It should also be pointed out that the point in the film where we see The Prince's halik awaking Snow White from the sleeping death was actually not taken from the original fairy tale, but rather another vey iconic fairy tale, Sleeping Beauty, a story that will later have a Disney adaption of its own. I think it was important for Disney to use this narrative climax to give a madami softer and gentler way for the princess to awake.

 Nosferatu & The Witch
Nosferatu & The Witch
However there are points in the film that are deliberately made not to be soft and gentle to perceive the evil nature of the films villain, The Evil Queen. Interestingly Disney used German Expressionism as a significant pinagmulan of inspiration for the darker scenes in Snow White most notably Nosferatu, a very iconic film that portrays key motifs of German Expressionism. A very well known films for having iconically scary scenes, which relates to the scenes in Snow White such as the forest scene and The Evil reyna in disguise as the hag, which is reminiscent of German Expressionism, giving an obscure and surprising moment of fear for the audience. link

Schneewittchen sa pamamagitan ng Theodor Hosemann
Schneewittchen sa pamamagitan ng Theodor Hosemann
The German Expressionistic aspects relates to the very core fairy tale inspiration, ibingiay the Snow White or rather Schneewittchen origin of the story. The most significant and famous fairy tale being the German Brother Grimm adaption, the adaption that introduced some of the elements such as the magic mirror and the seven dwarfs, elements that went on to be become even madami iconic narrative motifs because of Disney's adaption of the story.

 The Evil Queen's transformation
The Evil Queen's transformation
The scene where we see The Evil Queen's transformation process to the witch not only draws from German Expressionism but also refers directly to a specific film. Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde a film released in 1931 was a direct inspiration for The Queen's poison drinking chaotic scene both in narrative reasoning with the idea of everyone having impulses for both good and evil but also stylistic elements can be compared in both film's transformation scenes.

In conclusion I think it is evident from some of the examples I have ibingiay that shows us the high amount of media that have blended together to make the earliest of feature length mainstream animated film. Leading me to believe that the madami modern animated films are created, the madami variety of different narratives come together to create them.

As the girls continued to walk home, Mulan began to feel some minor pain in her abdomen. She thought it was just a cramp from all that climbing she did. "Are you alright, Mulan?" Pocahontas asked. "Yeah. Just a cramp." Mulan answered. "I hope it's nothin' serious." Merida replied. "It's not. The baby might be growing." Mulan replied. Pocahontas and Merida just smiled at her thought.

However, the pain only progressed the susunod morning. Mulan held her stomach lightly as she got out of bed. To make matters worse, Shang noticed. He rushed out of kama to be at his love's side. "Are you OK?" he asked....

I can relate to these words on some levels.
I can relate to these words on some levels.
As reyna Elsa is exposed to the dangers of her magic, her magic begins to grow into an uncontrollable force that she fears will bring ruin to everything she touches. This vivid imagery not only presents the audience with an interesting story development,it actually exemplifies and alludes to what an individual feels when experiencing anxiety and depression. If we take Elsa's magic to be a physical representation of anxiety and depression her journey to learn to control her powers reflects well the journey many people undergo when they experience anxiety or depression.
Elsa is the direct cause...

The physical attributes of Ariel, as a human and mermaid.

One thing I've noticed about Ariel, is that she gets a lot of praise and detest for her hair. The big clump of red, flowing hair is absolutely beautiful to me; but everyone calls it unrealistic.

This is the point where I think CGI animation would really help out TLM. If she had been drawn/done in that animation, her hair color would of been madami exaggerated. They would of taken time to add in different shades of red, and oranges. Her hair...

Snow White - Love Story sa pamamagitan ng Taylor Swift

One song, I have but one song, one song that is perfect for Snow White. Not to diss my beloved Snow White, but I usually associate her with the classic pag-ibig story, pag-awit about a prince and how he'll carry her away and though her motives aren't always because of her prince ideal I feel that she always...

Hello! I've decided to start up a new series titled "Character In Review" where I will be making artikulo for each of the Disney Princesses "reviewing" them and giving my opinions on them and their movie. I plan on going in chronological order which is why Snow White is first, but it just so happens that I'm starting with my paborito princess ^^ Anyway, I hope you enjoy, onto the article!

Opening Thoughts:

Snow White hasn't always been one of my paborito princesses, in fact she was once rather low on my list. I just dismissed her for being traditional and personality-less, but just in this last...

I have seen every disney princess movie known to exist (the sequels are an exception), and during all my time of watching I noticed a couple patterns.
For instance, a princess`s hair color most often tells what kind of person they are:

Brown- the artistic type, who often gets Nawawala in books and has a number of hobbies.
·Belle
·Repunzel

Blonde- with Elsa and Repunzel as the only exceptions, these princesses are an icon of beauty and nothing else. Their only goal in life is to marry Prince charming and are the reason madami feminist icons, like Merida from bravo need to be created.
·Cinderella
·Aurora...

Now that we know who Fanpop's paborito Disney Princesses are at the moment, let's get into the movies, and Fanpop user's pangkalahatang opinion on them.

12. Cinderella: 269 Points.
A classic, and usually considered the most iconic Disney Princess Movie. Well, it sure didn't do too well in this countdown, and a lot of the users placed it in their bottom three, or even last. Most people tend to find it boring, dull, not entertaining, uninteresting, didn't like it in general, or just placed it last because they loved the others more. The, "old-fashioned ness" of the movie doesn't help things for...
