When I saw the trailers and heard the news, I had a good feeling about it and while not the best, still better than a lot of crap that Disney put out in the 2000s

I thought it would be better than it actually was. I love it, but was disappointed with some of it. maybe a lot. but still good.

I was initially totally excited, but when I read about the racism discussion surrounding the movie and that the animation studios made changes to it because of it, I got a really, really bad feeling. I prayed for it to be good, I so much wanted to like it, I wanted it to set a mark for traditional animation....and was very disappointed in the end.
@Jayeden-G I take Lilo and Stitch and Treasure Planet over TPatF every day...not everything in the 2000 was bad.

I never gave it much thought when I saw the first trailer. I was glad to see another 2D film after so long, and to know we were getting an African-American Princess was fantastic. But I was just starting my first year at uni and I was too preoccupied to actually see it in theaters sadly. Though, my class was actually shown the first five minutes during class once, and I did get sucked into it, so I had hopes it would be good. And it really is! =)
