Hate Frozen, love brave. It appears that most people think the same.

I HATE Frozen... And I never thought I would say that for a Disney movie...

I love both! Though I think Brave is cooler and its animation is still better, Brave's story is too shallow. Despite Frozen's flaws I still love the plot, quite inspiring <3

@324Anna: You must be reading my thoughts or something. Frozen is the first Disney movie that I have ever outright HATED. That stunned me.

It has better characters, better animation, and better relationships. With Frozen the songs are better, the humor is better, and it does have more adventure in it. But Brave doesn't have as many irritating plot holes like Frozen. Both have their strengths and weaknesses but definitely Brave. Frozen used to be one of my favorites until I watched it when I got it on DVD and realized it's problems. With Brave I was disappointed with it because it wasn't the story that it said it would be but the more I watched it the more I appreciated it for what it is.

324anna and iwasneverhere, have you ever seen Chicken Little or Home On The Range? (I could name some others but I don't feel like it) They're MUCH worse than Frozen.

@KataraLover: ^^Oh, really? Nope. I never felt the need to watch those. Frozen is bad enough, as it were.

My second favorite Disney movie. I like Brave, though.

I assume most of you are hating Frozen only because of the hype and popularity it's getting. If you look past the fact that it is overrated, it actually isn't that bad. It find it actually quite good. Popularity is not a reason to hate a movie.

Ugh, so sick of everyone hating on Frozen...I mean Brave is my favorite DP movie, but I still love Frozen a lot as well.

I actually think they're both kind of... eh.

But Brave at least has some real emotional drama. Despite all the boy humor and slapstick goofiness, it has some real emotionally charged scenes, like when Merida wins the archery competition, when she and her mother destroy each other's most prized possessions (the tapestry and the bow), when Merida discovers the true identity of Mor'du (God, that was dark), when Fergus discovers there's a bear in the castle, ignores Merida's protests, and hunts Elinor while Merida has to race over and right her father to save her ("Don't you hurt my mother!"), and finally the very end.

Frozen...? Eh, it tries so hard so be goofy, light-hearted and kid-friendly so much that it's afraid to have a legitimate, dramatic moment. Every moment of emotional drama is either caused by a simple misunderstanding that can be defused any time (like Elsa shutting Anna out when she doesn't need to, and could just explain "I have powers, I can't control them, I almost killed you as a kid, and don't want to hurt you again, so please keep your distance"), or they bring in plucky comic relief to defuse the tension while it's happening. (Olaf pretty much shits all over every serious moment he walks into.)

Between the two movies, even though I think they're both flawed and try too hard to be goofy and light-hearted instead of being the serious epics I know they can be, I think Brave has more moments of emotional depth and drama.

@Manu: About the Frozen hate. In my case, it isn't the hype at all. It's just that Jennifer Lee left so many gaping plotholes which she did nothing to fix in the slighest. And then there was the whole hogwash moment about Elsa saying that marriage and falling in love with a man is no longer needed in women's lives--- which was basically a not so clever DISS of all of the prior DPs. And then, the people on IMDB basically took a verbal hand-drill and personally attacked me for any comments I posted. And the music in Frozen was inferior to the music in Avenue Q, which is a shame because the Lopezs's can do better.

Not anger at the hype much at all. Just disgust on a lot of levels. Last night, I watched the Hunchback of Notre Dame to wash the songs from Frozen from my brain. It was very effective. The songs in THOND, ( along with Pocahontas, Mulan, B&B, and TLM) are some of the best Disney songs ever. ( My humblest of opinions).

I dont like the movie Brave at all- I LOVE FROZEN, my only complaint is something that is not its fault- is that its being overexposed by the media right now.

Again, have to agree with Tygers. wow, never thought I'd have Brave over another DP movie! Brave was VERY disorganized (analyzed well link, if you want to read someone else's opinions on it) with NO central theme and I also think what Tygers said, but it was still better in score and issues than Frozen, by FAR, which was probably the most sloppily edited DP movie yet.

I definitely prefer Anna/Elsa as heroines but Merida is more compelling (at least next to Elsa). I love that the movie points out that selfish actions always have consequences, because that's something very few Disney movies (heck, movies in general) EVER touch on. it's always "follow your heart, do what YOU want, and everything will magically go well for you, just because".

Frozen shows little originality in almost every aspect, including the message "Prince Charming is overrated and that nasty, booger-eating, less-cute guy who was actually rude to you is a much healthier match and shows girls how a REAL relationship is!" was obnoxiously done (though less so than *cough* Enchanted). The movie freakin' beats you upside the head with it!

I also find the rugged, lush animation prettier.
