She never thinks about how her choices will affect others and doesn't apologize or redeem herself in any way in the end.

I don't think Merida is too selfish, but more selfish than the others. She gets a lot better in the end though. But still, she didn't even think about what would happen to her mom when she knew that what she was doing would directly affect her mom. Ariel had no idea her decision would affect anyone but her, and I don't think she could've known it would. I definitely think Merida and Ariel both redeem themselves. They both apologize and change. In my opinion, neither of them are selfish, they're just not thinking properly. And since Merida thinks even less than Ariel, I chose her.

Merida grows out of it. Ariel doesn't.

Ariel doesn't care that her dad really loves her, she doesn't apologise for running away, or try to make up for it.
She is very selfish.
Elsa separated herself from others for fear of harming someone, and she apologises to Anna at the end, redeeming herself and clearing her name.
Merida is not selfish exactly, she just requires some freedom from her responsibilities. It is hard training to be Queen, and the whole forced marriage thing is just ridiculous.
Anna is selfish, though. She is a hopeless romantic, and thinks she is so capable, and yet she can't even stop and think before agreeing to marry the first guy she meets. A random man comes over and says he loves, and wants to marry you, and you say yes? He could just be looking for a one-night stand, then gone in the morning. I'm sorry Anna, but that is the serious reality of he matter!! Stranger danger! Didn't your parents tell you?
Rapunzel cannot be blamed. She is trapped in an enormous tower with NO doors, not even a door for her bedroom. She is never given any independence, MG watches her like a hawk, and uses emotional abuse, kidnapping and identity theft to steal this child and keep her forever.
Tiana is the least selfish of them all. She worked hard for her dreams to come true, and for her Daddy, who by he way DIED during her pursuit of her aspirations.

I never think Elsa is selfish, she ignored Anna to protect her from her powers. Merida is reform, and Ariel is the most selfish one.

Enough with the selfish thing already geez Louise! Who cares can't we just love them anyway and forget about we all get selfish sometimes that doesn't mean we should point fingers and say whose worse than other let's love them for who they are and forget this whole thing

I still don't see how Elsa is not selfish, when after Anna reveals to her that she froze the entire kingdom, Elsa's immediate solution is to freeze Anna's heart and throw her out on her butt. How about trying, right then, to reverse the enternal winter? THAT would have been my first choice. But Elsa doesn't even try....

^I don't really go for emotional cowards, which is why I find Elsa to be really selfish, not selfless. Elsa has a very fragile ego, thanks to her upbringing and her ludicrous parents. I also find that making no attempt to reverse the winter at all, just really pissed me off. The shooting ice thing in the chest was reminiscent of beast blowing up because Belle wouldn't have dinner with him, and beast is not one of my favorite Disney characters either-- he's abusive, and guys like that don't ever change for "the girl." Mainly, thanks to the shooting of her sister with ice, and the making of a snowman bouncer to shove her sibling away, I'm not going to ever be an Elsa fan. I find Elsa's techniques at self-preservation through withdrawal really off-putting, and she generally is way more like a female version of beast/Adam. She has bad temper issues. Elsa is at the bottom on my favorite female characters list, joining other volatile females: Tiana, Merida, and Belle, while beast/Adam is at the bottom along with Naveen ( the player type) on my favorite prince list.
