Depends on the princess. I can do so for most of them, but there are a few exceptions.

It depends on how strong the character's personality is. If they don't have a strong personality behind the flaws, then I can't look past them because they are all the character is.

It really depends on your life experiences. If you can relate to the character because of shared life experiences, it's great--- and you can overlook the flaws of said character. If you don't share any commonalities in life experiences with the character--- their flaws certainly stick out more. And you sometimes can't relate to them as much, or at all. I've managed to relate to about eleven out of the soon to be thirteen princesses. It's really the audience's experiences that make or break a character being relatable.

When I love a character, I look the character as a whole character. His/her past is what makes him/her a character. So if I don't a character, it's not based on her past yet based on him/herself.
