I'm not sure if it is necessary for an animated film. It would be nice but I'm not sure if it matters. My friend thinks they should do it.

This question could be associated with an disorder really, not just Aspergers. I think as long as the plot line is great, and the disorder that the princess has adds to the story rather than takes away from it, why not?

I mean sure, I wouldn't have a problem with it if they did, but why Aspergers? There are tons of other mental disorders that are just as prevalent.

Eeeeh i'm not sure. Things like Aspergers, Autism, etc are really complex subjects and these disorders not always have the same symptoms. On some people it's more noticeable while on others don't. I'm afraid whatever Disney would do with this princess audiences would complain because either 1) conservative moms wouldn't wanna see a princess with Aspergers (they believe disorders don't exist). 2) people who don't know much about these things would be confused. (Aspergers and such is mostly known in the USA, just recently that it's been told in other countries) 3) people would complain that either she doesn't seem to "have" Aspergers or that she's too much of a stereotype ala Sheldon from the Big Bang Theory.

TLDR: Mental disorders aren't like race or a sexuality or a physical handicap on a princess. they have to show the complexities of the disorders and how they work unless they want people lambasting the film for not accurately representing the disorder or in the case of showing too much turning her into an offensive stereotype.

Maybe, if it's not really obvious or thrown in people's faces. It can be subtle. For example, there's a headcanon that Milo Thatch may have Asperger's as he has some of the symptoms, and some people think Elsa shows some symptoms.
