Giselle is never a princess. She's not born into royalty and doesn't marry into royalty, so no I don't think she should be considered one of this spot's princesses, what with her never being a princess.

If people want to include her in the occasional pick I'm ok with that, but I don't think she should be considered one of the characters this spot is for. This spot is for princesses, there are other spots to talk about general heroines. There are things like the Disney leading ladies spot for her, she isn't a princess :)
If you want to include poor forgotten Nancy who is the actual Enchanted princess I'm ok with that (though she's probably too minor a character for it)

This spot is for Disney Princess, as in the franchise, which consists of a particular character line up that we stick to.

I agree with Mermaid-Tale I don't mind if other princess are dappled with or discussed lightly (eg. used in multiple choice or pick options. Lord knows I'm guilty of that) but I'd prefer if they don't become a large focal point where the quizzes and picks are consistently about them.

But in retrospect 'Enchanted' is a bit of a slap in the face to the Disney Princess lineup. The main character gives up that whimsical, fairy-tale simplicity that the other princesses stand for, suggesting that it's dumb and naive. And in the end she accepts the world of logic and cynacism. Sure they have the fairy-tale ending for Nancy but they still pollute it with feministic humor and ...cell phones.

And many people have said "we should include Nancy, NOT Gizelle" ....yet I can't recall having seen Nancy anywhere on this spot yet.

This is just an observation. I actually quite like the film.

Yeah, I don't care if somebody wants to add a Disney heroine as an option, but I think if we do that we need to be careful that we don't let this become just another disney heroines spot.

Okey sure Giselle ended up with Robert the divorce lawyer who helped her find her so called prince who married Robert's girlfriend whom he was going to propose to at first until Giselle comes into his life. I for one understand that THIS IS A CLASSIC SPOT from 1939-1998 but hey I don't give a damn cause although Giselle isn't a princess e.g number one she isn't royality and two she is in fact a maiden so in my POV add Nancy cause she's the one who married Edward NOT Giselle. But disney though was going to add Giselle to this spot but that would mean they would have to pay for using Amy Adams all the time. Well so I heard anyway.

Thanks for understanding and yeah Enchanted is a homage to the disney princesses so in my guess you can add Giselle if you want.

however the entire movie kind of makes FUN of disney princesses so it'd be contradicting to put her on here

The movie is actually a parody, a mocking of all the Disney Princess movies, so like others have said, it doesn't make a lot of sense. She doesn't really belong.

I agree with others when they say to include some other characters on the odd occasion in a pick, such as Megara, Esmeralda, Eilonwy, Giselle etc, but not frequently.

There are a variety of other Spots that Giselle could be included in easily, such as:
Disney Extended Princess Club
Disney Leading Ladies Club
etc etc

I don't understand why people are more keen to include Nancy than Giselle. So what if Nancy was actually a Princess by the end of the movie, we see her for such a small part of the film, we know practically nothing about the character of Nancy.

I wouldn't actually want Nancy in the line up, I was kidding. And making a point because one of the options for including Giselle was 'all Disney princesses are welcome' and I was making the point that even if all Disney princesses are welcome that still doesn't include Giselle anyway since she isn't one. Technically Enchanted isn't a princess movie since the only princess is a minor character.
I was pointing out that the reason Giselle shouldn't be here isn't because she's modern/not a cartoon/a parody, it's because this is a princess spot and she never is one :)

I actually did like Nancy (well as much as you can like such a minor character) I almost wish we'd got a sequal showing her attempting to get used to living in the cartoon world. It would have been a funny opposite to the original movie. I hate sequals generally, so I'm glad they didn't, but I wish they'd at least done a short cartoon as a DVD extra showing Nancy trying to live in the cartoon world, I'd have loved that, and I'm sure it would have been funny.

I've never really understood why everybody thinks Giselle is a princess, is it because she wanted to marry a prince first? But since so many seem to consider her a princess I put that option "all disney princesses are welcome".

Yeah, Cruella I don't get why so many people think she's a princess either. When I said I was making a point about that option I meant to the people picking it, not you for putting it because you had to put it really, since it sums up so many people's opinion about why she should be here. If you hadn't put it someone would just have added it anyway.

I think it's a little weird how some people get offended if a character they like isn't considered a princess even when they're not one just because they're good characters, it's not like not being a princess makes them any less of a good character, and most people don't mind if the occasional 'non-princess' is featured here anyway, but people want them added to the line up and everything. I love Mulan, she's one of my favourite Disney characters, but I don't mind her not being a Princess :)

This spot is not called Classic Disney Princesses so I think that Enchanted should be allowed.. But if most fans think that she shouldn't I won't make picks about her and so on..
Then we should decide that Jane, Megara etc. shouldn't allowed too? is it right?
