Now, I pag-ibig pagpaparangal as much (or more) than the susunod person and when I go to my page and see that someone has ibingiay me a pagpaparangal I am in a happy little bubble for the rest of the day. I think this is a wonderful feature so that people can be recognized for their outstanding work. However, there is a etiquette that goes along with giving props. pagpaparangal are something you should give if you feel that a person has contributed something funny, substantial, unique, outstanding, or just plain awesome in your eyes. They are essentially a reward for hard work that you have done. They are like a virtual high five. They are not intended as venue for chatting with mga kaibigan or saying hi to someone. It is also not fitting to pagpaparangal back unless you are actually propping that person for something they did, and not just saying thanks to them for the pagpaparangal they gave you. These are both things that can be done through a message. I personally pag-ibig messages almost as much as props, especially if they would be out of place as a prop. One thing I pag-ibig about Fanpop is that the people on here are so positive and sweet! Sometimes they are so positive that they are a little overzealous and give people pagpaparangal without a reason or just to say hi. I find it a little disconcerting that some people have 15 or 20 have not contributed anything. I also commonly see people who have pagpaparangal in categories that they have not contributed anything in. For example they have 7 pagpaparangal for bidyo and have not contributed any videos. However, I do think that it is important to use this and other features in the way they were intended to be used.
