Like Lunalovely said the only real problem with it is that society depicts masculinity as a good thing and femininity as a bad thing. Everyone, regardless of gender, should be able to be as masculine and/or as feminine as they wish without being discriminated against.
when you live in a society that combines all these traits and forces it on men, what it does is just cause insecurity, homophobia, sexism, and gender stereotypes. sometimes it leads to violence, especially violence against women. after all, you have taught these men that being a woman is a bad thing. that women are the ones who cry because they are weak. women are feminine and that it's bad for a man to be. you tell them that they have to be the stronger one, the dominant one over women. the pressure we put on men to be such sexual beings and on top of that tell them to be dominant and powerful over women (among other things) is what can ultimately lead to sexual violence.
this could arguably just be patriarchy that we're talking about now. but i do feel that without these concepts of what masculinity and femininity is, our society as a whole would be much better. being male or female is not a bad thing, and being masculine isn't necessarily bad, but i think the idea of what it takes in order to "be a man" is is pretty problematic.
Just because society has changed and gotten more effeminate, as all societies with technology tend to, doesn't mean the men have to all shed their masculinity. If a natural disaster or war occurs, which is highly likely, it's the masculine men who are going to be first in line to protect and provide. It's in their genes to want to take care of women and be chivalrous. There's no problem with men wanting to respect and take care of women in that way. Both genders take care of each other.
