-Hatsune Miku-
I woke up this morning with the warm sunlight shining onto my jade green hair. I stepped out of kama and stretched myself well. It is going to be a very special today as today is my father’s birthday. Well, my birthday is much madami special to me of course but the thing that makes it madami special to me is that today, I’m going to meet my prince.
Well, that is what my parents told me. To them, it might be the happiest time of my life. But to me, it is NOT!
You see, I am thirteen years old. THIRTEEN! I am just a young tot who still hasn’t learnt much throughout my life and right now it is about to be ended sa pamamagitan ng a guy whom who the hells know. I don’t even know how old he is. Well, I am getting the imagination that he might be a desperate 30-year-old who still haven’t got a decent wife for himself but, you know, we can’t judge people like that. That is just way too cruel. I’m not saying that I am good person but... blah! Who cares?
After bathing (which is of course, assisted sa pamamagitan ng my many housemaids), I put on my segundo finest dress (the finest dress is to be worn tonight, during the ball), an azure dress with fake mga rosas beautifully sewn onto it. I walked with full grace and courtesy, a must in the family and a way of walking from which I was taught to since I was an infant, towards my parents’ bedroom. I gave a soft knock onto the door and a moment later, both my parents stepped out of the room with full grace. (Yes, even the man in the family need to walk in grace.) They both look outstanding with their suit and dress. I am just very proud to be their daughter.
“So, Miku-chan (a nick-name ibingiay to me sa pamamagitan ng my mother),” my mother voiced. “Would you be able to be patient into see your future husband to be this evening?”
“Of course, Mother,” I answered her in my most melodious voice tone. “What’s the use of being a lady if I cannot be patient?”
“Oh, my dear Miku-chan~!” my mother exclaimed. “Kaito-kun will be very lucky to have you as a wife! You are graceful, beautiful, courteous and even talented! Your pag-awit voice is the best ever heard throughout the country!”
So, is that his name...? Kaito.... I wonder what he will look like....
Time passes swiftly sa pamamagitan ng and the party had begun. (Of course, the party isn’t like anything people these days do). It started with a boring speech from my father, and then is followed sa pamamagitan ng the banquet. Lastly, it was the time to cut the cake and the beginning of the oh-so-boring ball. Throughout this evening, almost all the young men I met try to woo me. Is this Esmeralda dress I’m wearing too dazzling which caused me to receive all these unwanted attention? Sigh.... if this continues, then the only thing I want is for the party to end as soon as possible.
Having enough wooing from these repellent men, I pushed my way through them and towards my father, who is standing a few feet away from me. What I first saw after letting myself go from that crowd of men surprised me quite a lot as a saw a figure that I haven’t seen in ages. He is my father’s best friend.... and mines too! It was dear old Hajime-san, whom I haven’t met since the last five years! Looks like he has now return after his long voyage to the East.
The first thing I did when I approached him is giving him a big madala hug.
“Oh! Miku-chan! Dear, dear, Miku-chan!” he exclaimed, happily surprised with my action.
“Hajime-san!” I called him, adoringly as I did five years ago. “I really missed you! How are you??? How was the voyage??? Is Mirai-san here???”
Mirai-san is Hajime-san’s wife. She is a good friend of my mother...and my good friend too! I have very good relationships with grown-ups.
“I’m here!” she answered in her very melodious voice. She has a very beautiful voice and is the most renowned diva in her time. I am the diva replacing her right now but that is only because she is my personal teacher. I couldn’t have achieved anything without her. I usually meet her every week on Wednesdays and Fridays but since Hajime-san returned a buwan nakaraan (information I just received based on our present conversation), she never did came. So, I kind of missed her.
After a little chat, Mirai-san suddenly said, “So, Miku-chan, don’t you want to see your future husband now?”
“Huh?” I was confused. Do they actually know this person?
“We introduce you to our son,” Hajime-san gestured his hand towards an area right in front of me. “Kaito Shion.”
Then, that is when I saw the most handsome man that I have ever seen in my whole entire life. His dashing blue hair, enchanting sapphire eyes, and a matching blue outfit to make him standout even more. This was the first time a man made my puso beat like crazy...
But then, I was snapped back into reality. “Wait, you have a son!? Why have I never heard about him from the both of you!?”
“Well, I’m sorry, Miku-chan,” Mirai-san apologized. “But, it was a surprise, you know. Your parents and the both of us had been having the dream of marrying our children once we have one. So, once you were born, we have engaged you and Kaito together, but not officially, of course.”
“However, we don’t want the both of you to know each other too early,” my mother continues Mirai-san’s story. “Because, knowing each other for too long may decrease the feeling of pag-ibig or that is what others say....”
I was silent for a moment when a thought came into my mind. “But, how would you know whether I’ll fall in pag-ibig with him not!?”
Both Mirai-san and my mother chuckled and sinabi in synchronize; “Well, it was clear on your face the first time you laid your eyes upon him.”
For the first time in my life, my face felt hot without reasonable reasons. And at that time too, I know what I must do. I stepped pasulong towards that open puwang in front of me, towards that dashing young man. I keep my pace and remain my grace, no matter how much this puso of mine throbs.
As I walk, I realise those sapphire eyes glancing a shot towards me. Then, I saw the colour of his face turn a bit reddish that before. Even though it was only for a moment, but I manage to see the awe in his face which made my puso skip. However, I wish I had worn that cerulean toga instead, so that I could synchronize with him....
My walk towards him seemed like forever when I finally reach his side. I gave him a curtsey and smile to him my sweetest smile. (It’s not wrong for me flirt with my own future husband, right? ;p). However, instead of giving me back a smile, he just kept a straight a face but continues looking at me. I felt wrong and I wonder why he is pagganap so cold when he had been so mystified seeing me just now, because, the other men, those who had been wooing me just now, started to flirt with me as soon as they have the chance, but this man… acted like I am nothing to him. It is not a bad feeling actually; instead, it made me feel better. At least, this man that I am about to marry is not like those other man who just wanted to be around me for fun. I just hope he doesn’t hate me, like what he is trying to make himself look like. And deep down inside, I know that he doesn’t. So, I’ll keep smiling, a smile that is only for him.
From that awful silence, he suddenly took my hand and gave it a soft halik when Hajime-san suddenly appears sa pamamagitan ng his side.
“Oh, so it seems that you’ve met her, my boy!” he bellows in his very friendly but deep voice. “This is Hatsune Miku, Kaito,” Mirai-san introduced us to each other. “She is the daughter of Mr. Hachiru, your Father’s friend and the person who is celebrating his birthday today.”
Kaito’s face suddenly darkens and I start to worry whether he have anything against my father. Then, suddenly, Hajime-san puts his arm around his son’s shoulder.
“Well, you know, my boy...,” he said, in a persuading tone “My friend and I had a talk just now.... and, we somehow, agreed to hitch you and Miku-chan up. Isn’t that great news??? What will you say about it, hey??”
Oh, so he just knew his news. That is quite heart-breaking to hear. I was looking pasulong to his answer when he just flatly says, “Hells no, Father,”
His answer drains the blood out of me.
“But, you’re already 17 years old!!!” Hajime-san hissed at him. “That age is too old for you already! You MUST get married as soon as possible. I need an heir for my riches you know, boy!”
I started to feel uncomfortable. So, he doesn’t want to marry me, why is Hajime-san forcing him? He shouldn’t do that to his own son…
Kaito then, sigh in exasperation and said, “Okay, before I accept or reject (again) your offer here, may I ask you the age of the girl here?”
“13 years old, Kaito,” Mirai-san answered him.
“Thirteen!!???” He then shouted, attracting some attention but not for a long time... “That is bloody young!!!”
Well, yes, I know I’m young but it is not me that wanted to get married. It’s my parents who wanted me to get married early.
“What the hell is the problem with her age!?” Hajime-san suddenly bellowed, still talking to his son. “Your mother married me when she is twelve!”
That fact made me flinch.
“I’m sorry, Father,” Kaito then said. “But I just can’t accept someone that young to be harvesting my future generation.”
His words stabbed me deep in the heart. How could he…. How could he say that to me!? Do I look like someone who is unable to reproduce!? I started feeling tears beginning to fill up my eyes
“Kaito,” Mirai-san scolded him. “Even if you don't want to marry her, you can at least express yourself with madami courtesy! Don’t you know that what you sinabi hurt her feelings!?” She then rushed to my side to comfort me. Mirai-san’s action didn’t help me at all. It only causes those tears of mine to overload and for the first time, I cry in front of a man I hardly know.
Though my eyesight at the time is blurred, but I could see Kaito’s face expression panicked. He seemed baffled towards my condition right now. I believe… that he might think that I am a horrible little woman who is just desperate of getting hitched. If he really thinks of me like that, I would really want to tell him that I am nothing like that. Nothing like that at all…. I wanted to open my mouth and tell him that when he turn away from all of us. He was about to step away when his movement suddenly froze.
“Father....,” he open his mouth, with hesitation, but then with a sudden confidence, he said, “Father, I’ll agree to marry her but in one condition!”
Those words of his brought my tears to a sudden halt.
“I will only want to marry her when she reaches the age of sixteen and that for the three-year-period, she is my fiancée and that no other men are allowed to approach her! And that is final!” with those words, he then walks out of the ballroom and into the gardens.
Hajime-san, Mirai-san and I then walk towards my parents to tell them the news of Kaito’s agreement into marrying me. My father than ordered silence from the crowd and announced the happy news of our engagement. A round of applause is heard around this large ballroom. I can tell that people are happy for them, for me, including those men who were flirting with me moments ago. However, is HE happy?

I better check out.
