I honestly don't see it. I mean, obviously, it would be hard for Quinn, but there are a lot of teenage parents who have succeeded & are happy that they had kids then, and it didn't ruin their lives. (I'm not supporting or encouraging teen pregnancy but it's just that I don't think that all teen parents ruined their lives). I think that Quick would be great parents and of course, they would have a hard time, but...I don't think it would ruin their lives.
I don't know why, but I keep thinking of Shelby & Rachel. Shelby gave her up, and then she always regretted it, and missed a huge part of Rachel's life, and now that they're together-they're making progress, but it's so awkward with her. I think that if Quinn gave the baby up, like xoKel_Belxo said, she'll be missing the baby, always wondering, "what would've happened had I kept her?", and she may not have the chance that Shelby had to see her daughter.
But.. Is it the most important thing, to "learn to be happy"...? Quinn has no many, no support (Puck can't really count - he changes he mind so easly...And even if he'll raise a child as a perfect father, he won't commit to Quinn as his wife & only woman in his life. So they won't make a family), no plans for the future.
You guys are right that there are teenage perents who succesed. But did anyone of them raised his/her child totally on their onwn? Whithout parental support...? The key to succes in being a parent as a teenager is having extremaly big support forom the baby's grandparents. There's no other way. Quinn, unfortunately diesn't have it.
She has still so much life to live! School to graduate, perhaps college or finding work... And what will happen one day when she meets a man she'll really love, her "Other half"? She be still stuck with Puck...? Or will she raise a child with two dads?
Let's also think about Beth - she'll be way happier being raised in a loving family, by a merried couple that is ready to give her everything (phisically & emotionally) she needs in her life.
Quinn is not ready to be a mother. She has nothing & will have nothing if she keeps her daughter. Consequently, Beth won't get everything she deserves to get.
To sum up - of course, Quinn will live somehow if she decides to keep Beth. But she'll be happier if she gets the chance to "raise herself" first. What's more important, Beth will be happier if she'll be given up. That's the best gift Quinn cen give her for life.
But I don't think she has the maturity to handle a baby yet, not on her own at the very least. And don't even bother mentioning Puck, he DEFINITELY doesn't have the maturity to handle a baby.
Not saying it's not gonna be tough to give the baby up, it would be ridiculous if it wasn't, but I think it would be for the best, not only for Quinn but also for the baby.
Btw, we don't have any idea as to where Quinn is currently staying, do we? Last we knew she was staying at Finn's, but that blew up long ago and they apparently forgot to update us on her after school whereabouts. That is another important issue on the matter, she definitely cannot keep the baby without some kind of parental support and her parents didn't seem to happy with the situation.
This storyline got very screwed up :/
I mean, in "Laryngytis", she mentioned how Puck's mom wouldn't let her eat bacon and how Puck kept talking about some Star Wars video game to her.
Adoption process is very complicated process & you can be sure that new parents are very well selected. You have a chance to meet them, to talke to them, to make the final decision after that. And for sure we can say about these couples that they are mature, responsible & want to be parents very much, what we can't say about Quinn & Puck. When I think about all these wonderful couple that can't have childer on their own, but become parents because of "Quinns" of the world, I'm almost thankful for teenage pregnancy:) I'm thinking about real-life couples, but... lets imagine Monica & Chandler on that place:)
If you know personally a 16 yaers old, who didn't have any money at all, any school graduated 9that's kinda obvious at this age), no real place to live & no partner he could really trust, not the slightest parental support and still was raising a baby, please congratulate him/her from me... That's one in a million.
I know it was very long, but I jest wanted to answer your questions as well as I can. Becasue I trully belive that for Quinn (just as for every mother) giving up the baby will be a terrible expirience, I'm sure that it will be the greatest act of love & unselfishness you can ever imagine.
LOL Monica & Chandler-who could ever forget their wonderful experience?
I don't personally know any of them, but I believe that one of my friends does. =)
Totally get where you're coming from. I don't agree because personally I believe that Quick will become endgame anyway, and with everything that has happened lately, I can't even imagine them not even considering keeping little Beth. XD
Well with more reason, she doesn't have the maturity or means to support a baby and Puck has even less of those.
If Quinn does keep it, i can imagine lots and lots of cute scenes with the rest of the team :P
Rachel putting a gold star on its forehead
Mercedes singing "Hush little baby, don't you cry..."
Kurt going over all his moisturizers and creams and yelling at Finn: "If you hadn't found out you weren't the baby-papa, you would be doing this!"
and Finn responding: "I just don't want to see her NAKED!"
Brittany comparing Kurt's skin to the baby's...
Puck googling Beth songs...
If Figgins is against of a baby being on the school grounds, Tina would put on the baby-girl cute little fake teeth and a cape and declare it as her vampire-child. "Deal with it"
Or she would let her play with her bubbles (providing they're made of plastic)
But I don't think she has the maturity to handle a baby yet, not on her own at the very least. And don't even bother mentioning Puck, he DEFINITELY doesn't have the maturity to handle a baby.
Not saying it's not gonna be tough to give the baby up, it would be ridiculous if it wasn't, but I think it would be for the best, not only for Quinn but also for the baby.
Agreed.
A baby would definitley ruin the show. They take up too much attention.
