I personally think this is the reason why so many fans claim not to like Jesse, becasue at the end of it all he has been the only person who was actually perfect for Rachel and her ambition in life, and then the writers screwed it all up because they knew Jon Groff couldnt come back next season! Grrrrrrrr

I think that the writers destroyed his character because Jesse/St. Berry was so popular that they had to do something to mess it up.

I didn't like Jesse before the egg situation, but it completed my hatred for him. It showed him for the tool that he was and proved that he never cared about Rachel or for that matter, anyone other than himself.

I liked Jesse a lot. Until the egg thing. But I still think if anyone is perfect for Rachel it's him.

I remember thinking that they threw in the egg thing because they wanted a quick way to get people back to Finchel. I got the impression they'd always wanted Finchel as endgame, but realised they'd written Rachel and Jesse seeming too much more compatible than her and Finn, risked losing too many shippers from their core couple, and wanted a quick way to make viewers hate Jesse and switch back. I mean, imo the egg thing directly contradicts Jesse's behaviour from episodes right before it (one reason I judged him less harshly than I otherwise may have. Had a hard time rolling with development that felt as forced to me as this did).
Not the only reason I've seen people dislike him, but I think it was the turning point that lost him most fans. I get people disliking him, but personally I still like him, and still see him as more compatible with Rachel than Finn.

I mostly hated him because of teh Rachel/Finn situation and because he seemed like a slef-centered jerk. then later we found out we enver really got to know Jesse so what is there to like?

This mainly. Also, 'Because he is a major douche tool' and 'Because the writers destroyed his character thus destroying our liking him'.

I was never a fan of his character much but I was on verge of really liking him until they did that whole egg situation, which, I really lost respect for him for doing that to Rachel.

Also him being an outsider... I was a bit suspicious. Maybe he was good for Rachel like others say but I didn't really enjoy that ship.

It was also because of the writers, they made me him more jerk-like then they should. But eh... Just my opinions.

I really love him, maybe because i love Jonathan Groff. But the story of egg was really crazy. He has got the biggest voice.
