Hailey Potter stood on Platform 9 3/4, wondering where to go. She was eleven now, and about to start her first taon at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft ans Wizardry. Most of the others on the platform were swarming around a huge scarlet steam engine.
She saw a huge crowd of red-haired people coming closer. In Hailey's mind, it would be best to stay in the shadows. And speaking of shadows, a very skinny boy with black hair was shadowing the group. If anything, he looked as Nawawala as Hailey felt.
After a few madami minutes, Hailey approached the train. She was debating how to heave her very heavy trunk on board when she saw two red-headed boys help the strange blaick-haired one with his trunk. Once the boy's trunk was safely stowed, Hailey could hear the boys talking.
"What's that?" asked one of the twins.
"Blimey," sinabi the other. "Are you--?"
"He is," sinabi the first. "Aren't you?"
"What?" sinabi the black-haired boy.
"Harry Potter." Both twins spoke at the exact same time.
"Oh, him," sinabi the other boy. "I mean, yes, I am."
Hailey stared at the group, not sure what to think. That name had sounded very familiar. It wasvery close in sound to her own name.
Out of curiosity, she followed Harry Potter into his compartment and sat down opposite him.
"You're Harry Potter?" she asked, curious. He seemed very shy and a bit unsure of himself.
"Yes." His answer was very quick. "What's yours?"
"I'm Hailey," she replied. She felt it would be better not to tell him her last name.
After a minuto or so, another redhead entered the compartment. The train was already on the move. The stranger sat down susunod to Harry.
The two boys took to each other immediately, ignoring the fact that Hailey was right there.
"So that's where You-Know-Who--?" Ron asked.
Harry pulled back his hair, revealing a scar in the shape of a lightning bolt.
"Yes, but I can't remember it."
"Nothing?"
"Well--I remember a lot of green light, but nothing else."
"Wow." Hailey stopped listening at that point. Now that it had been brought up, she too could remember the green light.
