I was pagbaba an artikulo awhile back about plot holes in HP and one of them was about how Harry knew that he was the owner of the Elder Wand even though he had no background in Wandlore. I thought I would help clarify. I do not intend this to be argument material, but if you have an opinion, feel free to express it.

Wandlore is a complicated subject. In the first book, Ollivander tells Harry that the wand chooses the wizard, but no one knows how or why. In the case of the Elder Wand, who receives its loyalty is slightly different. With normal wands, only one person can work its power totally, but it will not work as well for anyone else, as is shown in the last book.

Xenophilius Lovegood explains the passing of the Elder Wand: overcoming the nakaraan owner in some way. In most cases, it is death that switches the wand's loyalty. For centuries, the wand was passed in this brutal manner. Eventually, it came into the possession of the wand maker Gregorovitch. While getting a view inside Voldemort's mind, Harry sees that Gellert Grindewald estola the wand from Gregorovitch after stunning him. Then in 1945, Grindewald was defeated in a duel sa pamamagitan ng Albus Dumbledore, making Dumbledore the owner of the Elder Wand.

Dumbledore remained the master of the Elder Wand until 1997, when Draco Malfoy disarmed him on the Astronomy tower. When this happened, Malfoy became the master of the Elder Wand. Voldemort thought the master to be Snape because Snape had killed Dumbledore (thats a bit of a different matter and I will come back to that later).

When the trio was being held at the Malfoy Manor, there was a short, yet important, duel. In this duel, Harry defeats Draco. This is where it becomes tricky. Malfoy did not carry the Elder Wand, as it was buried with Dumbledore at the time.

sa pamamagitan ng the final Battle at Hogwarts, Harry had put together what Lovegood and Ollivander had told him, and realized that he was the owner of the Elder Wand.

When he found out that Snape's murder of Dumbledore had been planned, he realized that made Malfoy the master of the Elder Wand, until Harry had defeated him. Since even experts of Wandlore do not know the intricate workings of wand loyalty, we do not know how the Elder Wand knew Harry defeated Malfoy.

Back to Snape. Voldemort believed that Snape was pagganap on his orders to kill Dumbledore, when all along, Dumbledore and Snape had agreed to a planned death. Voldemort, being under the illusion that he was (and only seeing everything at face-value), thought that Snape was the master of the wand because he was the one who had killed Dumbledore. This led to Voldemort's murder of Snape, causing him to think that he was the owner of the Elder Wand.

But because Voldemort got it wrong,he could not defeat Harry in the final battle. When Harry's Expelliarmus (cast with Draco's original wand) met with Voldemort's Avada Kedavra, the spells bounced off each other, and Harry's spell overpowered Voldemort's because the Elder Wand would not work against Harry due to its loyalty. Since Harry had no desire to use the Elder Wand, he repaired his broken wand and used that one. When Harry dies, the power of the Elder Wand will also die out because its master was never defeated.

As I sinabi before, Wandlore is an extremely complicated subject to grasp. So you all know, I double-checked my facts to catch as many inconsistencies as I could find and tie up as many loose ends as I could. If any of you have any other things to add to this, please provide them. For some reason I really appreciate Wandlore, and want to understand it as much as I can for the seventh movie.
