There are many, many reasons to pag-ibig Hermione Granger. She is a wonderfully written character and a great role model. However, lately I've been seeing a lot of people say things to the extent of "i pag-ibig hermione because she's sooooo pretty!!!!! she's the most beautiful girl in hogwarts and i pag-ibig her!!!!!" It seems harmless, and it probably is. But I have a problem with it.

People tend to obsess over her appearances, when Hermione herself would probably scoff at such things. Hermione was never one to care all that much about physical appearances; she was far madami concerned over madami important things, such as defeating Voldemort, getting good grades, freeing the house elves, and, of course, being in pag-ibig with Ron. Of course, she cared a little bit about her appearances, but not to a superficial extent. She's not shallow.

Hermione is so much madami than just a pretty girl. The most important trait is not her physical appearances, but her intelligence. She is extremely logical, book smart, and clever. She can be a bit of a know-it-all at times, but she is extremely caring, brave, and good hearted. She is tough; she fights for her friends, and she fights for what is right, even when she stands alone. She is the one who will do the right thing, or the smart thing, even when everyone else becomes annoyed at her for it. She is the one who keeps her mga kaibigan up to petsa on what is going on, who organizes and plans for important things, who motivates them to never give up and to always keep trying. So why do so many refer to her as "the pretty girl"? I think it's because (a) Emma Watson just so happens to be absolutely gorgeous, and (b) she is a girl. People don't refer to either Harry or Ron as "the hot guy". They may also be oversimplified (Harry being "the bravo one" and Ron being "the funny one", although I already wrote an artikulo about Ron's reputation), at least they are referred to sa pamamagitan ng personality traits. Hermione isn't. Yes, people think of her as smart, but she is madami often referred to as "the pretty one," or "the beautiful one." And yes, Emma Watson is gorgeous. But if you notice, people tend to be extremely concerned about how a girl physically appears, even though it's not really so important. Although people generally mean well, I think it's really downgrading to say "i pag-ibig hermione because she's so pretty."

Another note: Hermione is NOT supposed to be super gorgeous. Yes, her appearances do get better as the books go on. But she was never super model gorgeous. People say that because, as I sinabi before, Emma Watson happens to be super model gorgeous. But Hermione, for the first three and a half books, had bushy hair and buck teeth. And, yes, she got better looking. But she was never super amazingly gorgeous. The only time she was supposed to be super amazingly gorgeous was during the Yule Ball. That's it. People say she's the most beautiful girl at Hogwarts. This may be true in the films, but not in the books. No, in the books, the most beautiful girls were Cho Chang and Ginny Weasley, except during Goblet of Fire, where it was Fleur Delacour (she's half Veela!). Why isn't Hermione super gorgeous? Because what makes Hermione so wonderful isn't her looks, it's her personality. Sadly, people seem to have forgotten about this.

So please, pay madami attention to Hermione's personality, and not the fact that Emma Watson is gorgeous. It's really insulting to Hermione. Hermione is too awesome for such shallowness XD

(Note: I did NOT draw this picture of Hermione. This I found on Deviantart, made sa pamamagitan ng GreenifyME. I take no credit. I just think that this is how Hermione is supposed to look ^_^)

((This is yet another one-shot based on my fanfic "In The Background." If you'd like to read it and other Hailey Potter stories, just send me a message and I'll direct you to all the stories.
This particular one takes place just after the Battle of Hogwarts. Harry and Hailey have a talk. That's all I'm saying.))

Hailey Potter stood on the ruined steps of Hogwarts Castle, looking out at the grounds. It had been a few days since the battle, since the world changed.

A steady rain was falling, turning most of the ground to mud. She could see his footprints in the mud, leading down towards the lake....

On a frosty night, in the dungeon of Hogwarts kastilyo dwelled a sarcastic, bat-like potions master sa pamamagitan ng the name of Severus Snape.

Most of us here pag-ibig him, or at the very least, like him. Though I know I liked him from the very beginning when his sarcasm began to show, I also know many of his dedicated fans hated him at that time - for bullying Harry.
But, we ask ourselves, why did his fans forgive and pag-ibig him? This tanong is rather simple and the answer is without a doubt. Because of his unconditional pag-ibig for Lily. And, we also ask ourselves, why do we find his pag-ibig for Lily touching? Because...

The two figures walked silently in unity, their feet trudging through the high snow. Both their faces were wet with tears, and the girl clutched a bundle of bright red roses. They stopped immediately in front of a strong iron gate beside a small cozy church, adorned with brilliant pasko lights, and inside voices sang in chorus to familiar pasko songs.
They both stared beyond, unsure of whether to go in or not. The red-headed boy made his decision first and leaned on the gate, crying into his hands. The girl seemed unable to look at him, and her gaze was locked sa pamamagitan ng a white marble tombstone...
