Personally, I think the movies suck. Plus, the banner is of the movie, so I think we should even it out. The icon of the books, the banner of the movies. HP will forever be the book series to me, I like to ignore the movies when I think of it.

I think the books are much better than the movies, but I enjoy the movies too. Plus, the illustrations for the books aren't very good. Or at least, they're very childish. So no, I'm fine with the icon the way it is.

I'm not sure... the books ARE much better (IMO, obviously), but yeah, the book covers are pretty childish. So I don't know what the icon should look like. :S

Maybe some good fanart? There's some excellent HP fanartists on Deviantart. Maybe if we asked one of them, they'd make an icon for this spot. Or let us use a preexisting piece of art for the icon.

Of course the books are better! But when I read, I use my imagination. You can't really put a face on Harry Potter by my opinion, but most people recognize his face from the movies and that's great! The pictures on the books are weird. You can't see what it is before you've read the book. + most HP fans have only seen the movies.

And just another thing: The pictures on the books are different. The Danish are even different from the original British picture. So more people would recognize pictures from the movies rather from the books.

I think the locket from DH book would be great! But actually I don't care, fine the way it is now!

Well, if it were to be one of the book covers, I would think the British covers would be best, since that was where it started. But it could also be fanart or his name written in lightning like it always is.

I think that would be pretty cool, aholic- just HP. Simple and self explanatory, covering both the books and movies.

Over on the Supernatural spot, I got the banner changed by making a pick of possible banners. After enough people made their choice, I brought it to Dave's attention and he changed the banner for us! Maybe you could do that, duckey!

I think the movies suck, but I kind of like the icon. It's recognizable, to say the least. I'd be interested to see what kind of alternatives you guys come up with, though. =)

I actually like the idea of the icon being of the Hogwarts crest. It technically means both genres, so everyone is happy, and it is very recognizable.

What they have is pretty KICKASS!

Once a film or TV series has been made for a book series, a lot of people visualise the characters and scenes as those from the film/ TV series. That way the icon would be more recognisable than a fan art icon, or even an icon from one of the book covers since those vary so much internationally.
