"Shhh. It's okay little one." Lisa Cuddy whispered softly to her baby daughter.
"He looked so lost, Lise." James Wilson sinabi as he sat down in the rocking chair near the crib.
Cuddy put Rachael in her kuna and walked to sit susunod to Wilson in the other rocking chair.
"Why didn't you tell me he had been hallucinating?" She asked.
"I thought it had ended. He thought it had ended. Apparently we were both wrong..."
"He wouldn't tell me what he thought happened, but I have a feeling you know."
Wilson took in a breath and stood up.
"He thought you helped him detox."
"And?"
"He thought things had changed for the better between you two." He sinabi as his gaze moved to the window.
Cuddy's eyes widened.
"He thought we made love." She sinabi madami to herself than to Wilson.
Wilson turned his head to look at her.
"He was really happy about it. That's why he kept screwing with you. He thought you regretted it."
Cuddy leaned back in her chair and let out a breath.
"Oh, House." She whispered.
"Do you pag-ibig him, Cuddy?"
Cuddy looked up at Wilson taken aback sa pamamagitan ng the question.
"Why do you..."
"Because you were his salvation. He hallucinated you saving him from himself, the addiction, the pain. He sees unconditional pag-ibig with you and this is a man who doesn't believe that this kind of pag-ibig is even possible. Somehow you're the exception to his cynical theory."
Cuddy couldn't help but to tear up at Wilson's words. He moved to sit sa pamamagitan ng her and rested his hand on her knee.
"I'm also the one who drove him crazy. I was another hallucination pushing a false sense of happiness on him that ultimately led to him being put into a mental hospital...I broke his heart." She sinabi as she wiped her eyes. Wilson's hand tightened on her knee.
"You didn't do anything. He wants happiness and you are that for him. He's just still too afraid of the pain to actually let his delusions become a reality...He wanted to believe that kicking the addiction was something that the pag-ibig of a good woman could cure. But now he knows that he has to save himself before there can be anything real between you two. I think that's why he's admitted himself to Mayfield...The detox is going to be hell and much longer than 24 hours..."
"He doesn't have to be anything he's not for me to want him. I've always wanted him." She finally confessed.
"He knows that, but the great thing is that it's not good enough for him anymore. It's not just because he doesn't want to lose his intellect, his practice, or his gift. He doesn't want to lose his last chance at something meaningful. He loves you."
Cuddy smiled sadly at Wilson.
"It would be easier if I didn't pag-ibig him too...But I pag-ibig him, James...What if he doesn't ever get better?" She asked through tears.
Wilson leaned back into his chair.
"We have to have faith that he will get better. We can't give up on him now."
Cuddy leaned back against her chair.
"When do we get to visit him?"
"Two weeks."
Cuddy let out a sigh and placed her hand on tuktok of Wilson's. The two held hands in silence. Both their gazes focused on the window. The sun was going down in the distance. Cuddy finally broke the heavy silence.
"Stay in the guest bedroom tonight, James. I don't think it would be good for either us to be alone tonight...I'll heat up some left overs and we can start figuring out how we're going to break the news to his team." She sinabi as she stood up.
"Alright." He sinabi finally.
