“It’s Judy again. I don’t know how much madami I can take Onyx” She said, slightly panicked. Misty began to rock back and forth slightly, becoming agitated at her thoughts. The papers on onyx mesa began to quiver, and Onyx reached out and placed his arm on Misty’s wet shoulder.
“What!” Misty screamed icily, turning to face him. A sudden gust of wind blew half of the objects lying on Onyx’s mesa across the room. Misty realised what had happened, “I’m sorry Onyx!” she sinabi pleadingly, running to pick the objects up. Onyx was shocked, “It’s okay... It’s okay.” He repeated. Misty wasn’t sure if he was talking to her, or re assuring himself.
Once everything was placed back on the desk, and they had both calmed down, they sat on Onyx’s kama facing each other. “What... what happened?” Onyx asked, “What was that?”, “I’m not really sure...” Misty replied honestly. “Things like that have been happening for a while now. It’s like... no...” “What?”Onyx asked impatiently, he wanted an answer. “It’s almost like, I can control the wind”.

Onyx was ready to dismiss this fantastical claim, when he entered a series of flashbacks. The nagyelo glass at school, the strange wind at the beach, the sudden wind and rain storm... Onyx’s head spun and he rubbed his temples trying to make sense of everything.
“I... I think you might be right.” Onyx replied, “I mean it would make sense, right? This sort of stuff has been happening to me too, except with water.” Misty was relieved for two reasons, one: someone believed her, and two: Onyx could do the things she could as well?
There was a moment of silence as Onyx watched Misty’s face. He expected her to be worried, scared even. Then she smiled, “Prove it” she challenged him, smirking. “You’ve seen me use my... ability” She cringed using the word. “Now I want to see you use yours.” Onyx was shocked. “I’ve never really tried on purpose before” he responded meekly. Misty happily jumped up off Onyx’s bed, her hair lightening with her mood. “Let’s take a walk,” Misty said, “I know the perfect place.” Onyx followed and couldn’t help but smile too, Misty’s happiness was infectious due to it being so rare to see her happy and even rarer to see her laugh.

The once violent storm had passed, as they walked down past their school and towards the beach. The water was calm, it was actually quite strange, not even small waves tumbled to the shore. Misty took off her wet sando again, still wearing her bikini and ran into the water, watching as Onyx joined her.
They entered the water, and found a nice spot a few meters in, “Now concentrate on the water, feel yourself becoming the water, and try to make a few small waves” Misty instructed, watching Onyx as he looked at the water and closed his eyes, After a short while, the water began to swirl, and waves appeared. Misty threw her arms around Onyx.
“You did it! This is real!” Misty giggled, and then summoned a small wind, within minutos both Onyx and Misty had gained some minor control over their powers.
They finally came to baybayin only to find Misty’s phone ringing. She quickly answered.
“Hello?” Misty listened as Judy yelled at her. Judy told her that she was coming to pick her up, and a refusal would land her grounded for a month.
“I am at the beach, near the school entrance… I’ll meet you at the main road” Misty replied and hung up. Tears formed at the corner of Misty’s eyes when she turned back to Onyx.
“I better go, I’ll talk to you tomorrow” Misty managed a smile, “Okay” Onyx replied, “Thank you!” he sinabi gratefully. Misty walked to the car, an angry Judy awaiting her, she cautiously entered. Judy started to yell the segundo she hit the seat.
“I can’t believe you jumped out of your window! How could you be so stupid? Why are you soaking wet? What am I going to do with you? Maybe I should give you back to the foster home? I can’t believe you would be so stupid!” Misty blocked her voice out for the ride tahanan and thought about her and Onyx’s new gifts.
“Are you even listening to me?” she screamed.
“No Judy, I’m not. Please, can you give it a rest? I’m getting a headache and you’re not helping.” Misty sinabi to her as they pulled up. She ran out of the car and into her kama room.
