about the distance thing.. yeah, I read it before and if I'm not mistaken in one interview Hugh had mention about it.. but I try to find that interview in youtube again a few months later, that interview is not longer available. (we had discuss this thing before)
but I just want to tell you that, don't put your hope to high... you will hurt yourself at the end if this is not really true. I do believe in some of the facts there. but I think better just be patient for a while and wait...

This the interview was taken in April and it's getting released just now, which means they planned so.
Secondly, apart from the fact that he says he's not sure he'll go back to England (Thank you very much after last April and the next tour in Summer 2011 I had gotten there myself) the very fact that someone is so OPENLY implying a connection between LISA and HUGH...on PAPER...calling NAMES talking about affinities and wondering whether it MIGHT BE POSSIBLE...all allusions not so allusive...

Is this f**kin real?? Did he really say that?? Bcoz IMO, that one was BIG. That's a brand new piece of information that can be interpreted in A LOT of ways. But given the current situation that we all know(no ring,no Jo sighting, no going back to UK and so on), I can only interpret that kind of answer as : divorce.
although even if the divorce is real, never coming back is still kind of a drastic move. I mean, he's still English, and his children are there.....
Btw, these French mags are on fire! Just few days ago one mags was talking about Hugh's love for Jo, and now another is saying that he's never coming back.. XD XD

How do we know this was not fabricated or taken out of context, which often happens. Also maybe he said he's not sure he'll return [for the summer]. The phone interview was in april. He had that movie and the documentary project going on. Maybe he wasn't sure he had time to return home before House started back up. AND he DID go back to London... so I don't know what the excitement is about.
That's how she's a writer and musician.
Maybe because it's the first time we have their names in an article (ok a crappy mag) about a possible relationship.

too many conflicting reports
so I do not want to be happy too now, not too upset as it was after the article I'm not Charlie
I continue to pray for them that God, who knows the hearts of all, helped them overcome all the visible and invisible barriers and that they were finally together and happy. and no matter whether we know about it or not.
BUT I went back and read it (in French) and what's written there is clearly 'I'm not sure I will ever go back' and it's implied that it means 'to LIVE there'. So, yes he could go back to visit or whatever.
I think if any of this can be worth flailing over it's this. the fact that he (might have) said he didn't know if he wanted to go back anymore.

This does not in any way, shape of form mean he will NEVER return. I did not read him saying “Hell NEVER go back.” It probably means that he was unsure of whether he would return at THAT time. I suppose it could have been dependent on his schedule. The Oranges, the BBC Blues Doci, the trip to New Orleans and the Fox Upfronts. As we now know he DID go back to London where he did Fry & Laurie: Reunited. And who knows what else!
To say he’ll never go back is ludicrous his children are there, so is his wife, and so are ALL of his friends! (Okay, LE & RSL are in the US)

I have never in any article read him utter the words that he was “seduced by the team he works with!” He has always complemented them as individuals and as an ensemble. But “seduced” I am sorry, I have never heard or read that! This article was clearly embellished for maximum reaction!

In the Worldscreen.com interview with Anna Carugati on March 31, 2010 Hugh was asked about the diff. between US & UK shows and mentioned the budgets available. BUT that he could would say anything bad because he planned to live there. I quote” Lord NO, I plan to live there.”
When he was asked about the sudden trip to London, it is reported he got a little snippy, saying that long distance parenting is difficult, and that he had family obligations.
We know he bought a house, but that was more for his family’s convenience than his, I would imagine. He does not need a 5 bedroom house, with a pool and a guest house, if not for his family. He has also said in numerous early interviews that had the success come earlier, it would have been easier to move the family as the children would have been younger. But recently he said that they (He & Jo) made the decision together and were/are attached to the education their children would get in England. He is an ENGLISHMAN, as are his children, he wants them educated THERE! So far as the Harley, well his passion for motorcycles has never been a secret. He also has a Triumph and the fancy little Derringer.
Hugh has always maintained that his marriage is strong and that he and Jo were fine and dealing with their separation the best they could. That was until recently, and then his only remark was to say that working in the USA for such long periods of time away from his family was putting a strain on his marriage. And that is understandable!

Okay here I am a little lost. I LOVE Lisa E……Yes, Lisa IS an actress; we know she wrote and acted in a play that ran in NY. Yes, she is single and 44, but I have never heard that she is a writer (she dabbles in poetry I think), but THAT does not make her a writer. She has sung with the BFTV, as a guest, but so have Jennifer Morrison, Terri Hatcher and others! I have read she likes to paint. THAT, does not put her in the same league as Hugh Laurie.

YES, we know they are attracted to each other, they have an undeniable chemistry and YES, I am of the opinion that things have progressed further than simple friendship. Also that they have and do continue to indulge in more than just inappropriate (considering he is married) touching and kissing. I suspect that they are in the beginnings of a real relationship. BUT again until we get confirmation from Hugh Laurie about the status of his marriage this is all speculation and rumour!
The Paley interviews are moot, and cannot be used as evidence, because Jo was in LA with Hugh at the Emmy’s in 2009. And as far as we know he was home in London in November & December 2009. (He was photographed coming out of the Ivy in London with a black eye).
Lisa has never made a secret of her attraction to Hugh and their proximity and the Huddy arc certainly allows for intimacy. She has always said that she is attracted to men like House. And she did make out with HUGH. He had his tongue in her mouth for heavens sakes. That was not a lie or slip. But as she said in her BBC Radio interviews in June 2010, in her business one can always steal a kiss or two. And they clearly wanted to kiss each other and still do! There are so many signs pointing to a HULI relationship that one can quote sheets and sheets. BUT until we get it “from the Horses mouth” it is, what it is, just innuendo.
I very much doubt this is a trustworthy article. I can’t see Hugh putting it about on the continent that he is having a relationship with Lisa. But keep it a secret in the US, UK and the rest of the world for that matter.
If he IS worried about how fans will react to the news and how that reaction may or may not affect the show, their relationships and reputations. The best place to release the news is the USA. WHY, because the US audiences are at the end of the day, what will decide the future of the show. If it tanks in the US it is over!!
Hugh Laurie is much too private a man to do anything like that. I also very much doubt he would risk hurting his family any more than they have been. If anything it is my opinion that a statement will be released by his management or his UK and/or US agents about his divorce, before any HULI relationship is. I suspect this is just another journo taking a stab in the dark. Much of the info in this article is “VERY OLD,” and as for the rest, I suspect it is guesswork more than actual fact.
Until HE is ready, and IF they are together, they will continue to do what they need to do to keep it private, discreet and respectable.
Oh and I doubt that if Hugh Laurie does an interview with a FRENCH publication it will be in English. Hugh speaks French. All public school boys are taught FRENCH. So there is no excuse for anything to be “lost in translation.”
As much as I would love to know the truth, I am going to wait for it to come from Hugh Laurie. Or from someone that is reputable, like a rep, agent or manager!!!!

I joined about a week and a half ago and made a few comments here and there. Ya'll were probably wondering, "who the eff' is this girl?" Or probably not. I had been lurking--or you can probably say "stalking"--since the premiere of season 6. So, in a way, I kind of feel like I know most of you.
My decision to connect with this group primarily was because of all recent news, gossip, rumors, speculations and analysis circulating around about Hugh and Lisa's relationship. Also, I think my husband is sick of me talking about them because it seems lately that 's all that I talk about. Now I have an outlet to escape and indulge in all my Huli fantasies. Thank you!

I saw the pic showing the cover of the magazine and i was 100% certain it was a manip. Turns out it's true - heart failure number 1.
Then i read the article in both French and English and i die TWICE.
Then i read the article about Sophie Edelstein and i die again.
I cannot even count the times i died tonight and i am literally at a loss for words.
So just a quick communication of my opinion: JESUS CHRIST!
OK, another: i believe this is VERY significant. If we add the wedding ring and his clear change of attitude and the complete lack of Jo and the secretive Huli behavior and public strategies and Piers Morgan and the Jesse and Kristin interview and the little beach filming "subterfuge" and David Shore's major slip and THIS... It's coming out. It's coming out.
Of course they'd rather go with Europe first. America is known to be more puritanical AND American public is essential for the ratings. They cannot take any chances. They have to lay their grounds well before going to American public with this, so... testing it in Europe makes perfect sense.
PS: if this article was truly based on that "too short" phone conversation with Hugh himself, then the published material must be approved by his agent or publicist, right?...
I want to be excited, but I also want to hold back because I could easily turn it around and say that there is no actual proof of anything here just as I did with the HuJo info. STILL....it is exciting to see this in print.
All that said, I do like rrennie's husbands idea about the info being leaked in Europe and it is possible, very possible whether it makes a lot of sense or not, that may be a way they are handling it. Central to everything is the point that @DB brings up which is that he hasn't been wearing his ring. I think it becomes easy to overlook that at times because now we have become accustomed to it.
The core of all of this to me is that it is obvious beyond any real dispute that their on-screen chemistry is blowing the viewers minds and it is being noticed. What many of us have seen for years in smaller doses is now being allowed to flourish a bit more and be noticed more. THIS ISN'T IN OUR IMMAGINATION LADIES!

I have to say, my initial reaction (at 1 AM when I first read this) was "Oh, it's just another stupid tabloid printing fabricated info and trying to get our hopes up". But now that I've gotten some sleep and really thought this over, I think it's pretty big. I haven't been a Huli long enough to know for sure, but no tabloid has ever hinted Huli so blatantly before, has it? Like, outright implied (oxymoron, I know), "Hugh and Lisa are in love". They do that with a lot of other celebrities, but in my limited memory this has NEVER happened with Huli.
So, I think the fact that this tabloid DID print something that is obviously hinting at Huli is a big step forward. It proves that we're not really crazy, and that people whose voices actually have a chance of being heard are starting to believe what we've known all along: that the Yeti exists. Even if it's untrue (if the part about Hugh not being sure if he's ever going back to England is true, I will literally faint with Huli-ecstasy), this still means something. Things are definitely changing this year for Huli. More rumors are circulating, and that can only mean one thing: something is happening soon. These rumors are going to grow, and eventually they're going to have to be resolved one way or another. Either Huli outright denies it, or they go public. And dammit, GO PUBLIC SOON. Seriously, at some point, this waiting is going to kill me. HULI, YOUR FANS CAN'T WAIT FOREVER!!!! WE MAY BE PATIENT, BUT WE'RE STILL HUMAN.
