End of Chapter 17
That's what she had been looking for while we were walking, she had been looking for me to leave her??? I stopped to think about if it was possible that she was right, would I run from her if it all became too much?
I thought about it and no matter what I thought, all I could see was her and the fact that I wanted to be with her, that I didn't ever want to leave her....never run again without her.
I took her hand that was still intertwined with mine and raised it to my lips, halik it softly. "Alice," I sinabi as I smiled at her. "Alice, I pag-ibig you and I won't leave you...please stop looking for that. believe me I will not leave you."
She was watching me as if it were the first time again in the dinner, her eyes excited yet afraid. I leaned in and kissed her sweetly, sighing when she pulled away...her mouth still hanging open in shock.
"Alice?" I asked, worried because I just told her I loved her and she was just sitting there with her jaw hanging open.
"You really pag-ibig me?" She asked in disbelief.
"Honestly and truly I pag-ibig you. The idea of us being together forever, it amazes me and makes me so happy...." I sinabi as I smiled at her.
"I pag-ibig you too." She sinabi as she kissed me, ending any further comments I was going to make for the night.
Chapter 18
I pulled back, afraid that things were moving too fast. I could not allow myself to take advantage of this girl, regardless as to how I feel and how she says she feels. I looked down at her, her eyes confused about what was going on.
"Did I do something?" She asked quietly, and instantly the feelings of self doubt poured out of her.
"No, not at all. I'm just worried." I sinabi as I smiled down at her.
"Worried?" She asked.
"Alice, how old are you?" I asked as I rested my hand against her cheek.
"19." She sinabi automatically.
"Alice, how old are you?" I asked again.
"Well, it's 1949...I am 48 I suppose." She sinabi as she smiled at the idea of being older. "Why?"
"Alice," I sinabi as I tried to figure out how to word this. "Alice, I am 20 as far as most people go. For us though, I am 106 years old." I said, realizing how young she truly was.
"That doesn't matter to me, Jasper." She sinabi as she rested her head against my hand.
"Alice....." I worrying about my wording. "Alice, what are we doing?"
"What do you mean?" She asked as her eyes flashed open, her feelings hurt again.
"I feel like I am taking advantage of you, you're so young in many ways." I said, laughing as she wrinkled her forehead at the idea of being young. "Well, it's true my love."
"Jasper, I had been waiting for you for days. Everyday, I would be at the hapunan when it opened, and would stay until they closed for the day. I never gave up, I knew you would ipakita up..I knew that we would be....." She sinabi as she stopped talking, her eyes closed as she shook her head.
"Alice, please talk to me." I begged.
"I just," She sinabi as she shook his head. "I don't know how to convince you."
"Alice, I'm sorry I upset you." As I kissed her forehead.
"No, please don't be upset. I just want you to realize that this is meant to be. We are meant to be together. I haven't been wrong about things, and I'm sure about us." She sinabi with such conviction that I knew she believed it completely.
"Alice," I sinabi as I turned her face so that she was looking at me. "I do believe you, I know that something brought us together. That the minuto I saw you I had this urge to protect you, to do anything to make you smile."
"Really?" She asked as she smiled.
"Truly, I don't understand it. I have never met someone like you." I sinabi as I poked her nose.
"You either." She sinabi as she leaned forward, wrapping her arms around me hugging me tightly.
I wrapped my arms around her, pulling her tightly against my chest noticing how her body seemed to fit perfectly against mine.
"I pag-ibig you." I sinabi as I rested my head against her shoulder.
"I pag-ibig you." She sinabi softly.
There really wasn't anything else that had to be sinabi at that point, I decided then that I would be content to hold for the rest of eternity if that is what she asked. I would never leave her, I could never leave her...the idea of leaving her causing my still puso to break. I knew in that segundo that she was right, she knew that we would be together, that I would go to any extent to make sure that we never parted.
