One of the best perks about having the Queen as your grandmother-in-law is the access to her royal jewelry box!
Princess Kate has borrowed several amazing pieces from Queen Elizabeth over the years.
On Tuesday, the royal mom wowed during her first-ever solo trip abroad, and she marked the special occasion in a pair of stunning pearl and diamond earrings, which belong to the Queen.
Last year, Kate wore three major pieces from Queen Elizabeth’s private jewelry collection at a state banquet.
On her left wrist, Kate wore the Queen’s very own wedding bracelet — a platinum and diamond piece designed by Prince Philip and given to his bride on their wedding day in 1947. Crafted by Philip Antrobus, and known as The Wedding Gift Bracelet, it features stepped geometric motifs centered around three large diamonds. The bracelet in addition to the Queen’s much-loved engagement ring were made from the same tiara that belonged to the Prince Philip’s mother, Princess Andrew of Greece and Denmark.
The other diamond bracelet worn on Kate’s right wrist was another art deco design, this time a favorite of the Queen Mother’s and known as the Queen Mary Chain-Link Bracelet. Made by Garrard & Co. in 1932, the bracelet was originally a choker belonging to Mary of Teck, Queen Consort of George V until the Queen Mother had it made into a bracelet. She can be seen wearing it in the official portraits taken by Norman Parkinson to celebrate her 75th birthday.

And the crowning accessory was the Lotus Flower, the beautiful pearl and diamond tiara headpiece that dates back to Queen Elizabeth’s mother in the 1920s.
During the royal family’s memorable tour of Canada, Kate packed along the Queen’s diamond-encrusted maple leaf brooch, which she wore during an elegant reception at the official Government House in Victoria.
In 2014, Kate looked every inch the princess as she stepped out in the “Nizam of Hyderabad” necklace, which had been given to the Queen on her wedding day. The long chain features 38 diamonds, while its center boasts 13 emerald cut diamonds and a pear-shaped drop.
Perhaps the most famous piece of royal jewelry Kate borrowed is also her first: the delicate Cartier “Halo” tiara she wore on her wedding day in 2011.
An anniversary gift from the Queen Mother’s husband King George VI, it was purchased from Cartier in 1936 and has nearly 1,000 diamonds. In 1944, the Queen Mother gave the tiara to her daughter Elizabeth as an 18th birthday gift.
