 Blazefire
Blazefire
In the shadows of looming trees, a small lobo pack came weaving invisibly through the forest. For thirteen days they had been hunting for prey to feed their starving forms. They came as silently as ghosts themselves, swept along like leaves in the strong breeze. As they broke from the trees the alpha, or leader, appeared, her fine head up, ears cocked forwards for any signs of prey. She was followed into the open sa pamamagitan ng five other wolves. The smallest wolf, Dawnshadow, had been trailing all day, and suddenly caught his front leg on a branch and went tumbling painfully forwards. His startled yelping alerted the pack and they turned and raced back towards him.
Wild mga lobo are group animals, fierce in their competitions and rivalries, but also deeply social creatures, pack beings who, when not battling for dominance, will work for the good of the whole. If one falters, or is injured, in the wild, they will do all they can to aid him, and then work to restore the balance of the group. Only when nature itself becomes the enemy of all might they abandon an injured pack member to their fate.
The other mga lobo crowded around the fallen wolf, and the leader, Blazefire, saw quickly that he was not injured after all, as Dawnshadow picked himself up and shook out his coat, Blazefire’s look changed from concern to anger that this clumsiness had slowed their pace.
“I’m sorry! Your legs are longer than mine!” Dawnshadow quickly apologized, catching Blazefire’s snarl, and Dawnshadow was, in fact, a late bloomer.
“Then put madami effort into your running, we don’t have time for this!” Blazefire growled furiously, pushing her muzzle closer to his face in a ipakita of dominance.
“I’m so hungry, I don’t think I could spare the energy for that,” Dawnshadow whimpered, taking a couple of pawsteps back from Blazefire. Blazefire’s features softened, she sighed and bowed her head.
“We are all hungry, which is why we must keep running, to find food.” Blazefire stated, lately Blazefire had become increasingly worried, without pagkain her Clan would not last, she could feel even her own paws becoming heavier with each step sa pamamagitan ng weariness and hunger. Suddenly, the beta of FrostClan, a large, furry white lobo stepped forward,
“I have a preposition, Blazefire, may I explain?”
    “Yes, L, go ahead”
The white lobo lashed a tail that was coloured black at the tip and began to speak,
“We live on a human preservation, there isn’t a real, free forest for miles, prey has been getting scarcer and scarcer. There is a human who lives at the edge of these woods, I know for a fact that Ravenclaw and her get along nicely, perhaps she would offer us human food?” Blazefire abruptly turned around and growled angrily, “would we really defile ourselves like that? We are wild mga lobo not tame dogs!” L cocked his large head and stared at her with wise grey eyes,
“We may be wild mga lobo but we still need pagkain all the same, our paws are clumsy with weariness from running endlessly without food, how would we go about catching a deer whose matulin footed?” The other mga lobo mumbled agreement, and Ravenclaw sat on his haunches, looking indifferent, why should he care about food? He would be leaving for Hogwarts in a week, that is when school would start, then he could get as much pagkain as he wanted on the trolley. Personally, Ravenclaw had always thought the rest of FrostClan should try going to a human school for the experience, but they had only seen folly. Yes, the rest of the Clan had laughed at the human-wizard, Harry Potter, but they respected the lobo Ravenclaw. If they went to his friend, Skyler, who lived at the edge of the preservation, he would see about getting them all into high school and maybe even Hogwarts one day.
Blazefire lifted her lip above her muzzle, ipinapakita her fangs, in outrage, this was horseplay! How could L, her own deputy? Suggest such an idea? And even worse, how could they all agree with him? They couldn’t turn to a human for help, could they?
