There I sat, alone on the peak of the hugest mountain. No one around but Sarah.
But she could not hear me, and was possibly dead.
It all started about the same morning as Jazz arrived, except way earlier:
I woke up much before the guys, or even Sensei Wu.
I marched onto the deck to do some training.
After and oras or so, everyone got up and went to breakfast. I got the mail and went in.
"Jay, there's something from your parents…" I said, calling out the mail.
Cassidy had slid from the room when I found a larger package with her name.
"Hey Cassidy! There's something for you!" I called.
She precariously slinked in, as if expecting one of Lloyd's pranks.
"Cool." She said, in the same dull tone as she used when she has no answer.
She took a moment to open and reviews it.
"What is it?" ibon ng dyey asked.
"And old yearbook." Cassidy said.
"Oh, I wanna see what you looked like!" Shouted Sarah.
"M'kay, but prepare to be unsurprised." Cassidy said, flipping pages in the red-covered book.
"Woah, your hair faded since then!" sinabi Lloyd.
"I know, I should I lighten it, right?" sinabi Cassidy.
"Who's that?" Sarah asked, pointing toward a dark-haired boy's picture.
"Him?" Asked Cassidy.
"No, the cute one!" Sarah pointed closer.
"Oh, that's Jacob." Cassidy said, and a look of secrecy dawned her face.
"What's he look like now?" ibon ng dyey asked between bites of food.
"What, you think a hot guy doesn't stay hot?" Asked Nya, nudging his arm.
"As handsome as ever!" Cassidy said, in a childish tone.
"How do you know?" Cole asked, suspicion is his voice.
"We write to each other," Cassidy answered, "He's my pen pal." She added quickly.
"Really?" Cole asked.
"Yeah, come see! I have all his letters!" Cassidy said, getting up and motioning for him to follow. They walked toward the girls' room, and the door shut behind them.
The rest of us filtered in and out for breakfast. I sat at the mesa and watched as ibon ng dyey went back into his room to "handle some junk," and as Nya went for a walk. Sarah went with her. After a while I went to meditate.
In my concentration, I had a vision:
A dark, swirling wind enveloped us all, and a low, deep laughter taunted us. It was just the four of us, Lloyd, Sensei Wu and the girls. Two hooded figures approached us, but one of them was good. The good one stopped the winds. But the other one, the bad one, scattered us among far away lands. We could not find each other. Some of us perished.
My thoughts were interrupted sa pamamagitan ng a dark figure, and I was sure Garmadon was here to kill me. Until I took a segundo look, and Janail stood before me, lavender eyes brimming with tears.
"Janail- what are you doing here? Surely Garmadon–"
"Where's Kai?" She asked.
"I believe he is inside–"
She walked away, almost unaware I had sinabi anything. Before she was out of range, I heard her give a big sob, then she was gone.
I resumed my meditation.
[Jazz]
As I walked out of Sensei Wu's room, having struck a deal to sleep on the sopa at night, I was so relieved I didn't even notice my hand had joined with Cole's.
The only thing that made me notice was that Kai looked disturbed.
I quickly pulled my hand back, and Cole must have realized what happened, too for he gave a gasp, and turned all around to assure no on— specifically Cassidy — had seen him.
"Guys, we have a bit of a problem!" Nya called from the bridge.
"What is it, sis?" Kai asked.
"Some skeletons are raiding Ninjago City, led sa pamamagitan ng Frost." sinabi Nya, altering the bounty's course.
As the ninja departed, I prepared to go with them.
"Oh no," sinabi Kai, "there's no way you're gonna have any contact with your little freak of a friend."
"What? You think I have some sort of conspiracy going on? I told you! Garmadon saw me fix his plot! Plus, frost and I have a telepathic relation." I said, crossing my arms.
"Well that gives me a good reason to say this: Nya, keep close watch on Gar- I mean Jazz." Kai said, with great satisfaction.
And, as the ninjas rolled out and away, I was forced to sit in awkward silence with my ex's sister, looking everywhere but in her direction, and mulling over he major points in my life.
At some point, the TV went on, and the station was changed to the news. I don't particularly like the news, but something the reported was saying caught y attention:
"– and the wind should start picking up around noon. If you planned to go fishing today — or any sort of outside activity — we highly advise against it. The storm is classified as a category two hurricane, with wind speeds of up to 300 miles per hour. Again, it is highly recommended that you stay indoors at all costs. Thank you. Now here Dan Este on sports. . . "
"Wow, haven't seen any category two's since — well, we haven't even seen any hurricanes at all!" Exclaimed Nya.
"Yeah, all sounds like too much malarkey," I said, "like it can't be possible!"
It was as if a wave of shining realization swept through the room.
Nya took me to the ground.
"What is Garmadon planning?" She demanded.
"I don't know! I told you-"
"You told me what? He caught you stopping his plan? How do I know you're not lying?" Nya demanded.
"Because! I- I- you could. . . Polygraph!" I said.
"Poly what?" Nya asked.
"Polygraph. It's a lie detector!" I said.
Nya stood up cautiously.
"I don't trust you," she said.
"Nor I you," I said.
"It's always the evil ones with the biggest vocabulary," she said, obviously surprised sa pamamagitan ng my word choice. But I speak like that sometimes. Kai knows it. . .
We sat back down and watched TV, suspicion echoing from Nya's jumps and twitches at my every move.
Meanwhile, the storm began to roll in. The wind whistled, and soon enough, the skies began to cry cold, wet tears. And then they began to sob harder, so that we were in danger of shingles falling off in the rain and wind.
Of course, it was nothing for us to worry. We had seen slight thunder storms before.
But then the power went out.
Sensei Wu came out of his room to sit with us, because there was a window, which allowed us a smidgeon of light.
Nya's phone rang:
"Hello?"
"Nya! It's raining pretty hard! We're stuck, could you come get us?" Kai asked.
"We'll be there!" Nya answered, closing the phone.
Nya picked up a weapon, and so did Wu. I put my hand in my pocket and grabbed my small knife, ready to pull it out.
We set off.
[Jay]
As we headed out Kai stopped Jazz at the door. He made her stay behind.
We ran out into the fight a little confident. It was only a couple skeletons.
But when we got there, a surprise lay waiting.
"Hey spark plug!" sinabi a girl with snowy-white hair, and bright grey eyes, as she flew out of no where, dual swords drawn, and attacked Kai.
"What do you want, Frost-bite?" Kai asked.
"For your to not add 'Bite' to the end of my name." sinabi Frost, "how's Jazz doing? Heard she got the boot today!" She slashed her swords and just missed Kai's head.
"Oh, fine fine! The little spy is probably having her arms twisted behind her back right now!" sinabi Kai.
"Oh is that so? That wouldn't be that ugly little sister of your's, would it?" Asked frost, continually attacking while speaking.
"No, it's the other one, who almost took your head off last time you met!" sinabi Kai, hoping for a burn on her.
"That was your sister? Oh, I thought you just mistreated your dog or something!" sinabi Frost amusedly.
"Well you're not so pretty yourself!" sinabi Kai, finally taking offense and kicking her to the ground.
"Yeah? Well I heard you still have feelings for you best friend's girlfriend! Why don't you stick that in your juice box and suck it?" sinabi frost, jabbing the serif at Kai and giving him a deep wound in his jaw.
"Enough!" I said, jumping between the two, "Kai, go fight someone else! I've heard enough of you being badly poned!"
I began to brawl with Frost, which wasn't all that easy. She knew a few tricks that helped her use her powers to the best. She not only used the blade, but continually knocked the wind out of me sa pamamagitan ng jabbing the handle at my chest. And whenever I would hit of kick her, she would move, and use the blunt side if the blade to knock me to the ground. But eventually, all the skeletons were defeated, and the rest of the guys (and Sarah and Cassidy) could help me out.
As soon as the fight was over, we noticed that the wind had picked up, and it was raining to hard to get home.
"What now?" I asked.
"Uh, Kai, call Nya." Cole said.
Kai pulled out a phone I never knew he had, and win his hair soaked to the point of drooping, called Nya.
"Hey Nya, can you come get us? We're stuck," he said, glancing around at ourselves, bumagay drenched in cold water.
"We'll be there!" sinabi Nya, and hung up.
"I bless the rains down in Africa. . ." sinabi Cassidy.
"What?" Asked Zayne.
"Oh, I just thought it would be appropriate," sinabi Cassidy, "or maybe it's that old church song-" she hagan to sing in very low voice, "'Wade in the water, wade in the water children!'"
We all gave a halfhearted laugh. Sarah shivered.
"How much longer? I hate the cold!!!" She said.
"But you like-"
"Don't even say it, Jay." She leered at me.
[Kai]
It all happened so fast:
Nya came and we got on the bounty. The storm to worse, and our of nowhere, a tornado forms, and were in the middle of it. We were thrown about. Lloyd nearly fell off the ship entirely. I hit the pader and Jazz landed on tuktok of me, knocking my breath out. The sopa landed on tuktok of ibon ng dyey and Cole, and the sturdier out from under it.
"EVERYONE OUTSIDE!" Nya screamed.
"THAT'S FAIRLY UNSAFE!" Shouted Sarah.
Nonetheless, we all trudged out, grabbing the railing as we spun and twirled, rose and fell. And at one point, the bounty itself began to tear, and we were strewn about.
susunod thing I know, i wake up and I'm in a land fill. Everything was set and flooded, and I remembered the severe weather from however long ago, who knows how long I was asleep. I began to look for someone or something to help me, when I found it:
A huge, ready-made, two-person helicopter.
I hopped inside, turned the ignition, and sure enough, the engine roared.
I started hunting around the basura yard for anything else I could use, but that's about all I did for a few days.
[Cole]
I woke up with sand in my mouth. And my suit, and my hair, and my eyes. I sat up. For a while, I gaped at the calm ocean. Unnaturally calm. Not a single wave. . .
And yet, there was life elsewhere in this deserted place.
"Um, hello? Is anyone here? Oh, I hope I'm not alone!" Cried a spine-tingling cold voice.
"Jazz! Over here!" Called another disembodied voice, this one less scared than the last.
Both voices came from behind and above me.
I turned to see a small-but-steep incline ahead. I clamored up to see Jazz and Cassidy sitting and chatting, probably talking over their possibilities.
"Cole!" sinabi Jazz, running over to hug me.
Cassidy winced, but gave no other sign that she noticed his presence.
"We were just talking about how to get home." sinabi Jazz.
"Wonderful. Where did we get with that?" I asked, sitting on the ground besides Cassidy.
"Hmph!" She said, facing her back to me.
"Okay, Jazz you tell me!" I said.
"Well, we're far from Ninjago," sinabi jazz.
"And?"
"And. . . We're on an island." sinabi Jazz, "that's all."
"Well, we'd better start swimming!" sinabi Cassidy, pushing past me and sliding down the slope.
"What?" I said.
There was no reply.
"Let me handle this," sinabi Jazz in a whisper.
"What do you mean Cassidy?" She asked.
"I mean, get in the water and swim!" She called back. A splash sounded as she jumped in.
Jazzed shrugged at me, and followed Cassidy.
"I dunno. . . There may be things in the water." I said.
"What thing?" Jazz asked. Her answer came in the form of Cassidy's scream.
"OMG!OMG!THERESTOTALLYABIGGIANTCREATUREINTHERE!IT'SBIGANDGREENANDSLIMYANDEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEW!!!"
"Probably that one." I said.
"Great! We can't swim, we can't walk, obviously. We can't fly either. And no phones or anything. How we gonna get home?"said jazz, with a comical disappointed countenance.
"Two words," Cassidy had just gotten back from her failed escape and was taking a long dramatic pause, before saying:
"We don't."
[Sarah]
I don't know why your asking my pint of view now. I was unconscious for quite some time until Cole and- well you'll get to that later. how about. . . Oh, how about Zayne?p
[Zayne]
. . . I'll just jump right into it:
I was never quite passed out. I saw everything. The crashing of our home, how we were all scattered. And how Sarah and I landed on a mountain far far away. But I failed to notice a way to get home. Or to wake Sarah.
"Sarah? Sarah are you alright?" I shook her lifeless form, trying to get her to at least open her eyes.
But there was no reply.
"Sarah. . . "
I grabbed her hand and felt for her pulse. Yes, she had a pulse! A very slow, almost lifeless pulse. But I knew she was alive!
I stood up, picked Sarah up, and began searching for shelter. Luckily, I found a small cave on the side of the mountain. I laid Sarah down near the back of the cave. I sensed we would be there a while, so I went out for some food.
But there was nothing except pine trees and bushes full of what I believed were poisonous berries. I did not want to run the risk, so I headed in the direction of the sound of running water.
Eureka! At last, I found a small stream full of clear water and fish. I took my ninja mask off, and began to use it as a net. Within minutes, I gathered enough isda for a meal.
On the way back to the cave, I collected some twigs and sticks to make a fire.
I returned to see Sarah hadn't moved and inch. I didn't expect her to.
I lite the fire, cooked the fish, and ate. It began to rain, so I laid down and rested.
[Nya]
"That was a bad storm!" sinabi Jay. He could barely get up.
"Wonder were the others are. Hope they're alright."
"Jay! Your arm!" sinabi Lloyd.
"What?" He looked at it, all torn up and gushing blood, "Woah! My arm!"
"What happened?" I asked.
"I don't know." sinabi jay.
We were in the wreckage of the bounty, just outside Ninjago. The storm was worse than we expected. Many people dead, just from the look of it. Jay, Lloyd and I were the only ones to be heard or seen for miles.
"Jay, we have to get you some help!" I said.
"Nah! If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" He said.
"It is broken, Moron!" sinabi Lloyd.
"I meant that it doesn't hurt!" ibon ng dyey said.
"It's gonna when you start thinking about how the rest of your arm is still under that pile of rubble!!!!!" Shouted Lloyd.
ibon ng dyey took a moment to think about it. He looked at his arm. Then have a long, loud painful scream.
"Make it stop! Make it stop! It hurts!!!!" He cried.
"Let's find a hospital." I told Lloyd.
We got on either side of ibon ng dyey and began we began to walk towards Ninjago City.
