Mesereau said, “He [Jackson] was a very kind-hearted, gentle, sensitive, intuitive artist who truly believed he could heal the world in some positive way. He attracted one profiteer after another. There was loneliness, isolation, distrust. The cruellest thing of all was taking children and turning children against him.”

The attorney also criticised the media's failure to ulat the facts during the trial, opting instead to focus on the sensationalism. “Mountains were made out of molehills," Mesereau said. "The case was characterised sa pamamagitan ng crisis, shock and confusion.”

The 60-year-old lawyer also revealed that he was confident from the beginning that they would win the case. He said, “I thought we were winning all along.”
