~Jade's POV~
I sat outside his room all night.
I silently shifted from reality and dreams as I sat on the ground and rested my head against the closed door. I didn't relax until I finally heard the soft, stead breathing of sleep from Michael.

I replayed the whole incident tonight in my head. The window. Rushing to fix up his lip. The dash back upstairs. He told me to get some sleep, but truth be told, I couldn't rest a wink. He didn't know that I was so protective of him to stay outside his door, but he must have been exausted, obviously. I looked down the dark hallway and thought about how servere that window was. Things always happened like that in this place...but never that terrifying.

"1,2,3 NOT IT!" I yelled. "Hey, uy hey...that's not fair." Michael fake pouted.
"Haha...yes it is!" I giggled and ran off the back porch and into the surrounding woods. The patter of feet behind me kept me running. I knew he was right behind me. I dashed around a puno root and turned my head around quickly. I didn't see him behind me anymore. I knew I hadn't Nawawala him because I heard the footsteps behind me a segundo ago.
I stopped and stared. The sky was getting really dark, like it was about to rain.

Then something touched my shoulder.

"AGHH!" I squealed and whipped around. Michael was leaning against a puno behind me laughing. "Hey, that's payback for your cat."
After I recovered from shock, I began to laugh. "That was mean." I smiled. We decided after breakfast this morning to have some fun. Michael really was just a kid on the inside, alot like me.
Rain began to fall, and Michael grabbed my hand. "Come on, let's go back inside."
He gave me his dyaket and I held it over my head to keep myself dry.
"Thanks." I sinabi greatfully, and suprised he took my hand. We ran back together.
