I'm going to ask you that tanong again. The one everyone asks. The one everyone makes presinto about, the one you're probably tired of..

So, which do you like more: old music or new music?

If you answered old music, I understand you. What is that trash they call "new music" anyway? You're probably thinking that music has actually gone downhill... but that's not the case. You've likely only heard the tuktok 40 hits, and they only let trash get famous these days. There is still amazing, genuine music being made today, it's just not well known. Here are some of my tuktok current obscure artists:

1) Birdtalker

Okay, so this band are the definition of amazing. They're an indie folk band from Nashville who write really deep, uplifting songs about topics such as love, acceptance and overcoming adversity. However, their music isn't challenging to listen to at all.Their sound is beautiful, with skillful arrangements and lush harmonies. The two band leaders are husband and wife which also helps.
First listen to: Heavy, One, Blue Healer

2) Cataleya Fay

She is a singer/songwriter from Germany with the most beautiful, sweet, soulful, powerful voice! Like Birdtalker she writes uplifting lyrics, with very deep, personal messages about pag-ibig and self improvement.
First listen to: Choices, Journey, One Thousand Kisses

3)Dylan Wade

A singer/songwriter from New Zealand who's madami than just a singer/songwriter... his music encompasses everything from rock to folk, from blues to reggae to instrumental gitara pieces... all with beautiful, conscious, uplifting lyrics.
First listen to: Open up the Door

4) Katie Melua

Actually, you [i]might[i] have heard of her... apparently she made the charts at one point, but that was a while nakaraan and most people I've talked to haven't heard of her. Honestly, this woman is amazing. She's Georgian-English and has the sweetest voice ever. She also has an extensive catalogue- 7 albums, 3 compilations and I haven't even bothered to count the singles! She does a lot of covers but her originals are real gems.
First listen to: I Cried For You, Spider's Web

5) Wendy Morris

If you're not into all the "positive, uplifting lyrics" stuff and just once something madami ordinary, check out Wendy Morris. She's a singer/songwriter from New Zealand who writes really great country/folk/pop/rock music. The lyrics are well written and personal but tend to focus on generic themes such as breakups and the sort. I was crazy about her when I was 15- that was a while nakaraan now but her music is still good.
First Listen to: In Your Dreams, No One's Gonna See Me Cry

There we go- here's 5 amazing current artists. Go listen to them and tell me what you think about current artists now!

Backsmacking, for those who don't know is when you take a song and put it in reverse. Some artists of course decide to put reversed lyrics in their own songs. I always found those to be interesting and so I decided to make a listahan of these songs. In the parenthesis are the lyrics. And yes, I did have to reverse some of these myself lmao so some of the lyrics may not be exactly correct (and some I couldn't understand at all). I'll probably add madami as I find them.

- Utada Hikaru's Sanctuary (I Need madami Affection Than You Know)

- Crystal Castles' Femen (They literally took Scala & Kolacny Brothers'...

Probably the best-looking 46 year-old person I know of, which is fitting for the glamorous authority she voices.
Probably the best-looking 46 year-old person I know of, which is fitting for the glamorous authority she voices.
Recently, while surfing through Twitter, I bumped into a tweet sa pamamagitan ng Ellen Degeneres where she interviewed a young boy who was a big tagahanga of Idina Menzel. And as a surprise, Idina Menzel was there too! I can just imagine how joyful that boy was. However, this kind of saddened me. As someone who's also a huge tagahanga of Idina Menzel, watching that little boy meeting her idol made me happy, and sad. Happy because a young child finally met with the person he idolized. And sad because I wanted to meet/contact her for a long time. This gave me an idea. Maybe if I write about why I look up to her, then...
