is it possible the two spinsters who cared for young Rumple were witches?

i've been thinking about this for a while. Just the way they looked and their voices kinda resembled old witches from other pelikula and shows i've seen so i've been wondering if its possible if they were secretly witches. I mean also they somehow posessed a magic sitaw which can mean they either conjured it or they found it or bought it or something. kinda curious that if they are witches, were they still around during Rumple's adult days as the dark one?
