Les reluctantly took the phone and said, "Hello?" His father said, "Les, please come home. Why did you run away?" Les said, "Dad, I didn't run away. I moved out. There's a difference." His father said, "I need you at home." Les said, "No, you don't. If I stayed, we'd just fight all the time. It's not good for either of us." He said, "If you don't come tahanan now, I'll call the police!" Les said, "Go ahead. Tell them your eighteen-year-old just left home. See how that works out for you." His father said, "Yes, you are eighteen. That means it's not child abuse if I beat the shit out of you!" Les began to cry. Jimmy's mother heard what Les's father sinabi from outside the phone. She snatched the phone back and said, "Now, you listen here! It may not be child abuse if you beat Les up, but it is considered assault. You leave the poor boy alone! You have caused him enough harm. If you ever come around him, I will have the police waiting on you when you arrive." Les's father said, "Well, I guess if he wants to leave his dear, old dad, that's up to him. I'll leave him be." Jimmy's mother said, "Dear, old dad, my ass!" Les's father then hung up. Jimmy's mother then looked at Les. He still had tears in his eyes. She hugged him and said, "It's all right, dear. Your father won't hurt you anymore." He dried his tears and said, "Thank you." She said, "You're welcome." Later that night, Jimmy's parents showed Les the extra bedroom. As Les settled into the bed, he asked, "Do you think if Jimmy and I start a band, we'll be a wave tossed in the ocean?" Jimmy's father said, "Of course not, Les! Don't believe your father. He's an idiot." Jimmy's mother said, "Les, you're very talented. Jimmy is too. You'll just have to meet other dedicated people, and you'll be as famous as some of the greatest artists of all-time." Les asked, "Are you just saying that to make me feel better?" She said, "Of course not, Les. I believe in you. Now, you get some sleep." Les closed his eyes and slept like he hadn't slept in years.
The susunod day, Leila and Greeley took Paul for a walk on the tabing-dagat while Leila's aunt and uncle relaxed on the beach. Greeley said, "I can't believe today is our last araw here." Leila said, "I know. Vacations always go sa pamamagitan ng so quickly." He said, "Let's make the most of the time we have." She said, "Yes." That evening, they had a seafood meal. They then began packing for their things so that they would be ready for their trip back home. Greeley sinabi to Leila, "Thank you for inviting me to go on vacation with you, Leila." She said, "You're welcome, Greeley." He said, "We'll have to do some madami fun things this summer." She said, "Yeah. That would be great." The susunod day, Greeley accompanied Leila and her aunt and uncle on a ride to the nearest beach. Leila's uncle drove. Leila's dog, Paul, enjoyed looking out the window at the sights. When they stopped for lunch, Leila took Paul out on a leash to "do his business". A few people stopped Leila and asked her, "What kind of dog is that?" Most people didn't believe her when she told them that Paul is a purebred German Shepherd Dog. Leila didn't mind, though. She was aware that most people don't know that Shepherds can be blue, especially solid blue like Paul. Around 6:00 that evening, Leila, Greeley, Leila's aunt and uncle, and Paul arrived at the property. It was a nice tabing-dagat house, and it was very pet friendly. They were all tired from their trip. After unpacking, they got hapunan and relaxed for the rest of the evening. A few hours later, they called it a night.
Leila and Greeley had just finished their first taon of college. They were looking pasulong to the summer. Greeley asked, "What are you going to do this summer, Leila?" She said, "I'm mostly going to relax and take it easy. What are you going to do?" He said, "I think I'll do the same, but we should do some fun things this summer. After all, summer doesn't last forever." She said, "You're right. We should do some fun things together." He said, "I'd like that." Later, Leila texted Greeley and said, "My aunt and uncle and I are going to the tabing-dagat this weekend. They sinabi that I can bring one friend with me. I first asked Rita, but she can't come, because she's taking summer classes as well as taking on a summer job. Would you like to come with us, Greeley?" He said, "I'd pag-ibig to, Leila." She said, "Great!" He asked, "Is your dog, Paul, going too?" She said, "Of course he is." The two mga kaibigan were looking pasulong to their weekend getaway.
