Planet Earth Article: Can Evolution explain-?

I hope that I don't spark a pagtatalo here. I am not disparaging the theory of Evolution or making any statement for Intelligent disensyo here. This is intended to ask a tanong with the intent of getting a serious answer to my question.

My personal nakakita on the origin of life and the Earth will remain hidden for now as I do not want to taint your opinion of this artikulo or of me or anything like that.

Evolution explains the origins of life and how species evolved and adapted. However, can it explain how the Earth came to be able to sustain life?

Allow me to explain. The percentage of oxygen in the atmosphere, the angle of axis, the distance from the sun and moon, the shape of its orbit, its composition... If any one of those things were too different from what they are, chances are the Earth may have not been able to sustain life.

Can Evolution explain that? Or is Evolution intended to explain the biological side of things? Does the "Big Bang" theory count? What are the chances that all of the conditions could have occured randomly?

Emm_xD Your view as expressed here is very similar to the William Paley Theory. Meaning - If Earth was created "by accident" (The Big Bang Theory) then how can things in Earth have been created so intricately? I do think Evolution intends to explain the biologicial aspect. Evolution is based on facts, like you said the percentage of oxygen in the atmosphere, the angle of axis, they are all in perfect tuning to each other, so how could they have been created by accident? If they were different then chances are the Earth would not survive. Evolution cannot explain that. The only thing evolution can explain is why they are like that. I don't know whether that actually helped - I just rambled on lol!

Praesse Well, I'm sure those things can be explained, just not by the Evolution Theory. I mean, maybe studying Physic or maybe even Chemistry you can get to understand those things. Anyway, I think that considering that the universe is infinite (or at least inmensely huge) the chances of having at least one planet that can sustain life because of [i]just chance[/i] are not that little. Anyway, this is the only kind of life we [i]know[/i]. Who knows? Maybe there's some kind of life that doesn't need water out there in the infinite universe, and maybe we can't even recognize that kind of life as life, to begin with.

I really mean it! What would you be able to do if SOPA/TPP censors the internet? What would you be able to do if Pagsulat fanfics and drawing fanarts become illegal? What would you do if it's illegal to do a cover of your paborito song on YouTube? What would you do if downloading things from the internet (music, movies, TV episodes, etc) became illegal? What would you do if SOPA/TPP wins the war and takes away internet freedom? Net Neutrality is already dead so far, we can't risk the freedom of internet...
