Rachel Weisz Tanong

Did Rachel make a mistake in doing the "Fountain" ???

The film did poorly at the box office and the role did not suit her....i am thinking that she has put main lead roles out of reach because of this. i almost fell asleep towards the end.......

I'm not sure you can call it a mistake since not all of her pelikula have been huge hits. The movie was quite a flop, so it might have affected her career, but Hugh Jackman was part of it too and he's gotten quite a few roles after it.
Whoa, you managed to stay awake until the final part? I don't think I got to watch half of it before stopping. Half of the time I was feeling drowsy because of how boring it was and half of the time I was thinking "What the *beep* is this?!"

I think the Director was on some personal enlightenment tour of his own brain. The concept was relatively OK, but it really shows how something which looks good on paper can turn into a monster. It is obvious what they were looking for, but, layer upon layer of metaphysical philosophy with plinky- plonky music and a woeful script really sealed it's fate. Like you said, Hugh Jackman was Ok but I think he had already done the first X-men movie, so was safe. I know rachel has had a baby and is concentrating on that, but , I still would like to see her as a main lead female in a serious film. . To be honest- I was yawning about half an oras in, but you kind of hope that things will pick up later on. Definitely gets the sleepy-yawn award for that taon ! Zzzzzz !

Probably. He thought making a flashy pseudo-deep flim was better than therapy. It didn't work for me at all. I'd pag-ibig to see Rachel in some leading roles too. She's got some projects, we'll see how they go. Have you seen the trailer of "The Whistleblower"? I know it's based on a true story, but I find it too cliché.

I have just seen the trailer and to be honest. My opinion is divided; Rachel p[laying a Nebraska cop- great, the background United nations sex-trafficking plot. well, it is kind of like the liam neeson film that came out last taon when his daughter is kidnapped sa pamamagitan ng traffickers in paris and sold to rich people. If it is based on a true story, then it should be shown, but I have the feeling that it will be a very slow-moving and straight to TV kind of film. Sticking Vanessa Redgrave in might give it some Gravitas. Will I be seeing it at the Cinema, probably not;I'll check the reviews out first. I like gritty films sometimes, but I really go for feelgood factor films, because they make me feel good. I try to avoid stark truth, I can get that in the papers; films should make you think about stuff, but you really have to yourself sometimes. I would like to see rachel in a huge romantic epic- they could redo "Anna Karenina "- she would be great in that or something similar.......and of course have a great opposite male lead...don't know who though...takes a bit of thinking.... Hmmmm!
