For me i say OTH. I mean i think most of the people who watch the show tune in just to see who lucas is with or who lucas is choosing to be with.

I don't even watch this show but I can tell it really relies on it's couples and they seem to be the main storyline.

I don't watch the show either, I also think grey's anatomy is about to go down this road.

i think a lot of these shows do

although one tree hill is mainly about couples i think some of these shows are relying on couples more to keep their audience now they have run out of storylines

or like for example friends or pushing daisies where they introduce one really good couple like chuck and err the pieman? sorry forgotten his name or ross and rachel, to establish i really good mainstream audience

until i was picking options to put on this pick i never realized quite how many shows would be canceled if it wasn't for the couples

Friends was always relying on relationships period.. so no matter if they were "couples" they could still be friends. I'm seeing the same to almost be true for The OC. One Tree Hill on the other hand shamelessly builds it's storylines around couples and the hopes for certain couples. But hey, it appears to be working. I guess Grey's does the same.. but to a slightly lesser extent.

I picked the show that I think would fall apart if it didn't have any romantically involved couples. Friends was hilarious and would have done well, even without the Ross/Rachel angst. Grey's Anatomy would probably do okay because they could focus on the hospital aspect and that's pretty compelling. Same with most of the other shows. But OTH without any couples would like asking people to watch Beverly Hills 90210 without couples. It wouldn't work. It would be boring. Dawson's Creek is another example. Prime time soap operas don't work without the romantic element.

The Office, House, Bones, Friends, and Lost are probably the ONLY shows out of these that don't rely on the couples. Which is why they kick ass! And it also make the couples the best. Because you get more involved with the relationships, knowing they are deep and won't just completely fall apart next episode with out a hint.

Maybe a bit too much, i gernerally dont like this show!, there is nothing that interesting about it!,though i would have picked Grey's, but season4 wasnt all couple related& i must say, it was a really bad season!!:)

friends also did the same with ross and rachel to bring in viewers at the start
