‘There was no other way.’ He was getting frustrated, River could tell. She always knew when something was wrong. He stared at the floor. ‘I’m sorry.’ River went over to him, took his face in her hands and lifted his head so he was looking right at her.
‘You have nothing to be sorry for.’ She smiled. ‘Nothing at all.’ He smiled back at her.
‘Where are we in your timeline?’
‘You always know how to spoil the moment don’t you?.’ The Doctor chuckled. He watched River go into her pocket and take out her diary. Her blue diary. Which was filled with all the adventures she’s had with him and the adventures still to come.
‘Let me see…’ She flicked through the pages trying to find her last entry. ‘Ah! For once we are actually up to speed with each other.’ She closed her diary and put it back in her pocket.

‘I take it that’s… Good.’ They both laughed. The Doctor couldn’t take his eyes off her. She was absolutely amazing.
