I know the book describes Katniss as oliba skinned and black hair, but I don't. One, people need to realize that there is a 1 in a million chance of finding an oliba skinned actress with black hair and gray eyes who is perfect for the part. Odds are she will have to wear contacts, get over it . . . Two, I don't know if you understand that oliba skinned is code for: white girl who just has a tan. She doesn't need to be as dark as a Native American! So really if it's the choice between a girl with a tan and a pale girl, WHO CARES, pick the better actress. Also, black or dark brown hair make NO difference. It's not like her black hair is impertinent to the plot. It's just her description. Now if this were Pretty Little Liars and Spencer and Melissa needed to have blond hair because Ali is their freaking sister (GRR!!!!) That would be different. I actually picture Katniss as a dark brunette with fair skin. Sue me for being creative. Toptions (top options) Kristen Stewart, (But she could never do it because she's Twilight) Alexandra Daddario, Jodelle Ferland, Troian Bellisario, Emma Roberts, (with dark hair) Hannah Marks, (Emmy Rossum is 24 which is the same age as Troian and Alex bet she may look a little to old)and maybe Dakota Fanning, (If she would die her hair dark of course.) Let me know if you have other questions, and look up Hannah Marks cause I doubt you've heard of her. Honestly though. . . I think a no name fresh face would be the best. In the pictures I edited some of the girls a little to match the role. I didn't change Alexandra Daddario at all :)

Merribelle Well if we're looking for a good actress then why is Kristen in there? She has no facial expression, which is essential for this. I agree that whoever gets the part doesn't need BLACK hair, only dark hair, but she should be pretty dark skinned. You can do wonders with makeup though. I have dark skin and almost black hair, my eyes are brown though. Thank god I don't want the part! BTW, olive-skinned is certainly not code for "white girl who has a tan," Olive is a completely different colour from that orange colour that white girls turn.

CarleeMadison96 I only say kristen for appearances. N acting ability. Lol. But actually, Lauren Conrad is olive skinned, and she is white. Plus, white people are only orange if they spray tan

isabellalala Yes but she might get her colouring from her father... Olive skin isn't just a white girl with a tan, it's like Eva Mendes's skin colour.

SaveMe620 If I had to choose between any of them, I would pick Troian. She best fits the description to me and has more of that "Katniss" vibe. Plus I find her acting to be tolerable. Though Dakota is the one with the most acting chops of the bunch, I can't picture her. And Kristen? Really? I'm so sick and tired of her. I can't take much more of her blinking, stuttering and her mouth always hanging open.

Lol_Cat101 what about Willa Holland, her hair isnt that dark but i think she fits the Katniss role well

My Prep team is late. I sit on the tiled white floor of the makeover bathroom and wait. There's some kind of easy-listening music playing softly through the speakers, although I can't seem to locate where exactly the speakers are. Probably nanotechnology. I learned about that in school.

I hear giggles down the hall. My prep team must be here. Two silly-looking women come in. They're the weirdest looking people I have ever seen.
