Honestly, I think Katniss is better off by herself. The way some people seem to think, being single is a death sentence or something. But of the two options, I prefer Gale.

@Pith - I agree. A lot of people actually assumed that Katniss was asexual in The Hunger Games (first book). I think a lot of the younger and newer fans get a little too into the "shipping" aspect of things, and not the heart or core of the story itself. Which can be pretty disappointing.

@missing_99 - Agreed. So many fans get too invested in the ships (not just for HG, but almost all fandoms), and it makes me wonder whether they actually care about the story at all.

You could say I'm "Team Peeta", and that I think Peeta suits Katniss better for a relationship, but I really love Katniss and Gale's friendship. And to me it will always only be a friendship---even if it can't be the same after the events of Mockingjay.

Well, she ends up with Peeta in the last book, so I'm going with the one that's canon. Honestly, she's better off on her own.

i agree, the hunger games, was never a story about love, it was a story about survivel. and the power of politics and capitolism, and dealing with terrible realities and the horrors of war, at no point, reading this story, did i see it as a romance, for me, it was all about the fight to stay alive.
