I wouldn't call it a plot hole.Nabu's death is one of those bullshit"lets add something that makes no sense and completely contradicts the things that happened previously just because it will add more drama to the series".The same thing happened to One Piece.Ace was killed by Sakazuki and stayed dead for good even though his damn body is made out of fire just because Eiichiro wanted to add a super dramatic scene.Yet Sukazaku didn't die no matter how many times he got shot because his body is made of magma.Also Crocodile got beheaded but still managed to remain alive because his body is made out of sand.
