She sat alone, huddled,
A waif, so thin and pale,
A homeless child, ragged,
Who seemed so very frail.
Her parents had abandoned her,
She foraged on her own,
In paghahanap of pagkain and shelter,
She always was alone.
Her eyes were Nawawala and vacant,
Her face bereft of glee,
She was the saddest little girl,
In abject poverty.
People seemed to walk right by,
Without a passing glance,
Their minds a million miles away,
Almost in a trance.
One araw a little girl came close,
And stopped and sinabi hello,
And offered her a cookie,
Then sinabi she had to go.
She came again another day,
And smiled and shared her lunch,
