Here's the first chapter: link
This is the first half of the segundo chapter. It's between McGee and Tony. The segundo half will focus on Ziva and Abby.
I'm so sorry it took so long for me to write this, I've been really busy and my fic have kind of been on the back burner. But hey, when's that any different?

End of All My Tries
He rounded the corner and propped himself up against the hard, rough wall, trying to catch his breath.
This is so fucked up.
A vision of his future life appeared before him. A life of meals for one and sanding a bangka in his basement. Nothing had ever terrified him more, but he was so tired, surrendering to this seemingly inevitable fate proved to be the only viable option right now.
He flickered his eyes open to see McGee standing there, hands in his pockets, his brow furrowed. "You were supposed to fight."
"Fight what, Probie?" He left the support of the pader and laughed hoarsely.
"This. This situation you're in. Ziva and Ray... this is not how the story is supposed to end."
Tony chuckled louder this time, a false grin spreading across his face as he did so. His smile faded as he said, "Oh yeah? How would you know that, Tim? This isn't one of your novels where you can rewrite the ending! I'm done fighting!" He was frustrated. He hadn't meant to snap at him, but why was he here, giving him words of encouragement?
McGee smirked, looking straight at him. "You're done fighting? Tony, you haven't even begun. Your life is your novel, DiNozzo. You're the only one who can change the ending."
Tony stood there, his feet seemingly madami interesting than the point at hand. He didn't want to think about this right now. All he wanted was to get drunk and pass out on his couch, the pain of losing Ziva so effortlessly just a fleeting memory.
McGee carried on. "You think I don't see the way you look at her?" Tony looked up, Tim's statement startling him. "The way you broke inside when you thought she was dead? The panic on your face when she was taken sa pamamagitan ng Cobb? Tony... it's as clear as day." He paused briefly. "You know what this job... and a few motivational CD's have taught me about life?"
Tony chuckled, not answering his rhetorical tanong and leaving him to continue.
"The path we follow is always of our own choosing. So you can either mope around and jump from kama to kama of every woman you meet for the susunod 15 years or... you can have what you've always wanted, with the person you've always wanted."
Tony leant back against the pader again. He sighed. "It's not that simple."
"It can be. Things are only complicated if you make them."
"But what if -"
"No, Tony, no what ifs." McGee stopped him short.
"Why do you care so much about what happens between me and Ziva anyway?" He wondered earlier in the conversation as to McGee had come and found him.
"I never was any good at sitting through those romantic comedies that Abby makes me watch. I can't wait another six years for this happy ending.", he chuckled, as they both turned and starting making their way down the street.
"I guess it's not a good idea to ask if you wanted to watch 50 First Dates with me then huh?"
"I might as well, you can't beat a good happy ending."
