I have no idea whether to call 2010 a great taon or not. There are so many things that happened to me, TDWT, the volcano, Heather…
"Alejandro!" 
I looked up from the almost-midnight garden of wet damo and melted snow, and saw Owen staring up at me. Holy crap , he had actually called me Alejandro. Usually he called me Al, and I hated it, but after Josè died (I have had many deaths in my family, even madami so than Duncan. I have missed school for funerals madami than anybody else.), I let it slide to remind me of him. 
"Hi, Owen." I smiled. "Happy almost New Years." 
"Don't you wanna say that to someone else..?"
I know he's talking about Heather. But I really don't want to tell her how I feel, at least not right now.. 
I spy a stand full of sparklers.
"Can I have one?" I ask. The guy hands me some sparklers, and I start walking back to Owen when I see her. 
Heather was sitting against a tree, her eyes directed to the sky. I walked up to her, putting the sparkler to her ear.
She screams. I laugh.  You've got a lot of nerve sneaking on a girl." Heather frowns at me.
"Indeed I do, chica. But that isn't what I'm here for." I smiled at her.
"I don't need to hear a Happy New Years Song, especially not from you."
I could have puked at that. "Ugh! I'm not some pasko caroler."
Heather laughs at me. "And people call you a sweet guy."
"I can be!" 
I've gotten a lot nicer since TDWT. I mean, after being practically shunned after what I did on that wretched programa, I guess I've learned that being "the arch villain" will cost you a lot of things: friends, a million dollars, and if it wasn't Heather, the one you love. 
"What is it?" I looked at Heather, and she looked at me, wonder glowing in her eyes. 
My heartrate sped up. Did I actually come here for nothing?? I might as well tell her tonight. Having the sense that I finally have a girlfriend might be a good way to start the year. 
No. I can't say it now.."Wait a while." 
I have to think. What if I say something wrong, or start blabbering in Spanish? I know it's not like me to worry, but I can't just say it and be done. What I'm going to say tonight can't be too big or too small..
"We're countin' down to the new year! It's now 11:59! 5! You do the rest, kids!"
Crap. Crapcrapcrapcrap. I have only five segundos left. I don't know what I'm going to say, but I must make it quick. 
"Heather.." I muttered, my puso racing.
"H-huh..?" She sounds so confused… 
Here goes.
"I.…I want you to be my girlfriend."
"Wh-wha?"
"2-!"
"I want you to be my girlfriend, Heather Thorn!"
"You-wha?!"
"ONE!! HAPPY NEW YEAR!"
I pulled her close, close enough to look deep into her eyes, but only for a split second, because I slammed her lips onto mine after that. 
I felt my face burn up and the sweet taste of apricots grace my lips. 
Heather. I can think of nobody else but her right now.
How I got a pain in my puso after an arguement. How I always got Nawawala in her eyes, her smile, her voice..how I longed to hold and halik her, like I am tonight. I hated her so much in the beginning..but my puso always started to race when I saw her.
I could feel her lips reply to mine; my puso hammered hard in my chest, so fast that both of us could hear it.
I absolutley pag-ibig it.
Finally, we pulled away, our minds hazy.
"I really pag-ibig you, Heather…" I mumbled.
"I pag-ibig you too…" Heather murmured, smiling at me, her cheeks rosy red. 
"Happy New Year, Heather, mí amor."
Hey, at least we'll be able to remember our anniversary…
"Happy New Year, Alejandro."
