Chapter Ten
Book Three- Sophie

TIME GOES sa pamamagitan ng FASTER THEN YOU REALIZE. MAKE THE BEST OF EVERY MOMENT. -Erica

"But I am not mentally unstable," I sinabi as dad whisked me out of the hospital with Carrie close by.
"If I believe that then we wouldn't be having this conversation," dad said. The doctors had ran multiple test and most of them were taken when I was sleeping. I was ibingiay the results back this morning. They described me as a mentally unstable person who should be checked into a mental institute very soon. Apparently, I was a danger to myself and others.
Madison had left a couple of days ago. She and her mom came sa pamamagitan ng to check in me yesterday but. I haven't heard a word from her since. Another thing that bothered me was my sister's absence. "Please don't send me to the looney bin! I promise I am stable. It was just a freak out over the ilipat and . . . her." I glanced sideways at Carrie who was too busy texting to notice my rudeness but dad noticed.
He bent close to my ear. "Get over it, Soph," he said. "I pag-ibig Carrie and soon you will might feel the same way. You might even accept her as your mother."
"When pigs learn English," I sinabi in an equally whispered voice.
"I can make you some of your paborito spaghetti. Would that  are you feel better?" Carrie asked as she slipped her iPhone quickly in her Gucci knockoff.
"Unless you can make it the way mom use too," I murmured stubbornly. That took her off guard for a moment but immediately regained composure. She engulfed my dad into a conversation about different spaghetti recipes.I refused to speak to any of them until we got home.
The number one thing that had to be waiting for me at tahanan with Zoe. She must have stayed behind to throw me a party. That would explain Madison not calling or texting me today. It would also explain why Zoe wasn't there with me at the hospital. It couldn't possibly be because I had been ignoring her lately. That couldn't be the problem. Sure we fight but she never takes it personally and neither do I.
If I was going to be the guest of honor, I had to make sure I looked my best. I was decent when I left the hospital but now I had to be gorgeous when I stepped inside. My shoulder length black hair couldn't be anything less then perfection. The curls that I had spent hours curling last night were miraculously still in tact. Carrie had brought some clothes from tahanan which was a huge mistake. Instead of just bringing me my stylish line green skinny jeans and ripped white sando that goes over my dayap green t-shirt. She brought me shrunken leopard print pants, a bright yellow crop tuktok and sandals. She is out to get me. I swear it.
When we pulled up in the driveway, I half expected lawn guy, who Madison later told me is Shane, to ipakita me inside. He would be shirtless and wrapping his arm around my waist. Nonetheless, I put together everything I could to make me madami appealing then usual. It was much harder in these clothes. I braced myself for a loud welcome from the crowd as we stood sa pamamagitan ng the door. Dad was fumbling with the keys. 'We must get you to Th Grey Realm soon. A ghost transformation will be occurring soon and since you are susunod in line for princess, you must attend.' The demon inside of me was back. I had to seem stable.
As we stepped inside there was no crowd or anyone shouting welcome. It was just a dark house with a light from the tv shining from the living room. In the living room was Emma. She was relaxed on the sopa watching some old film. If it was for my demon urging me to converse with her, I might have just ignored everything. I took one painful step after another until finally I was standing over her. 'Can you please move. This is the only episode I have left to watch before the season finale.'
I didn't want to look unstable in front of dad so I told Emma to come with me to the attic. She followed me up their. The pain of no celebratory party was still on my mind but demon had a better control over me then I had over myself. I wish someone would come and save me but of course it does work like that. 'Repeat after me,' demon said. 'Emma you must take me to The Grey Realm and you must bring along my sister also.'
Choking back a few tears I obediently repeated him. "Emma you must take me to The Grey Realm and you must bring my sister also."
Emma stared quizzically at me. 'I see you have inherited your roots. Your sister should already be there waiting for you. Shall I take her to the castle, m king?' Emma glanced at me but it wasn't me. Sure it was my body and my eyes but she was looking past that. She was actually looking into the eyes of the beast. Or demon.
'You shall do just that. Make sure they go to the holding cell and not a regular one and are you sure that Zoe is waiting for us at the castle? If she isn't then it will be your life and not Erica's,' The demon's voice was projected out of my throat and into the air. It took all of my energy to stop him. It was like trying to stop a speeding train.
'I understand, my king,' Emma said. 'I swear on my life that Zoe is there.'

Chapter 22
    Dead end or a breakthrough?
“What?” Cadence asked for the umpteenth time, and I gave him an exasperated look.
“Again?    Seriously Cadence, your supposed to be the one actually paying attention?” I say, frustrated.
Cadence flashed me a wicked smile. “Age is a number cupcake, I’m not that boring.”
I surpressed my smile as I told him and Jess everything that happened again.
“So,” Jess sinabi after I was finished...

Look through the one-way glass,
The other side's covered in dust
You can only see ahead
But not back again...

There's no time for disappointment
No time to look back and cry
We gotta go ahead and see to the future
Cuz there's so much madami to be done then

Look to the future
We will see ahead
Nobody's gonna wipe up the other side
You can't look back now, just see to the future

The future's so much madami important than the past
So why weep over the memories?
Just plan ahead for the future
And you will find it's worth it

The one-way glass
Is a wonderful thing to have
And it helps you to stop worrying over your troubles,
To go ahead and shoot for the future

We will not look back to the past
Cuz it's covered in dust, no one can see through
Just go ahead and look to the future
The clear future that everyone sees

Chapter 21
    The opposite of her
I remember how it used to feel when I didn’t seem to matter. It was always Dorothy this, or Dorothy that, and I was always left out or ignored. I remember having to shout to get people to look at me, and then they’d be all like ‘oh, I’m so sorry, didn’t see you’.
I remember what it was like when I didn’t like my sister, or at least, not much as I did when we grew closer. I adored her in the few years before she died, but there was a time that I didn’t want to be just like her....

I guess I never realized
What we had until it was gone
Then fun we had together
And the laughs we shared

It is funny how we acted
We would pretend to hate each other
Even though that want the case
I cared for you deeply

I didn't know until the end
That you felt the same way
After everything we have been through
The separation was the most difficult

When we were young
We laughed and shared secrets
You the loved me
While I then loved someone else

It was only when we were older
That I realized my true feelings
But it was much too late
To express them to you

You have a girlfriend now
One who you might marry
She is very...

Chapter 19
    The girl named Serache
“Aren’t you supposed to be at home, I watch the news too you know.” Rob, Cadence’s uncle said, as soon as I stepped foot on his boat.
“My parents are a bit pre-occupied at the moment, there both at work, but my mom’s probably at the police station. Doesn’t matter, I have to ask you something.”
    “And...

I saw you in your handsome little suit,
So I wore my purple toga
Cuz it matched you
But one thing's for sure...

Nothin's ever gonna be the same again
Even though you and I look the same
In our hearts, we're both broken
Like shattered pieces of glass

We were dancin at the ball
When someone pushed us over
They knocked our drinks away
We locked eyes...nothin was the same from then

It's a tragedy
But it's the painful truth
Nothin has been pleasant from that moment on
When the horrible thing striked

We knew nothin was ever gonna be the same
We accepted it, but it was hard to
I started to bawl my eyes out...
It was a difficulty

Nothin is ever gonna be the same...
But we'll always be together in our hearts...
And, well...
Life will go on.
