What do the pictures on the cover of the Twilight books have to do with anything or were they just put there for show?

first book, Twilight: the mansanas on the cover represents the forbidden fruit. the pag-ibig that bella has for edward is dangerous, but she still chooses to pag-ibig him.

segundo book, New Moon: the tulipan doesn't mean anything. even Stephenie Meyer sinabi so.

Eclipse: You can see that the ribbon on the cover is ripped. That represents the two parts of Bella. the "Edward Bella" and the "Jacob Bella". She's torn between the two.

Breaking Dawn: The red pawn is Bella when she's still human. The white reyna is her as a vampire.

Eclipse: I don't believe Stephenie has actually stated anywhere what this one means. But the ones I've heard the most are: one end symbolizing Edward, the other end symbolizing Jacob. Each end representing her two choices of pag-ibig or the person she can choose to stay with.

Number two of Eclipse: One end symbolizing the vampire world, the other the human world. Bella's choice between the two. The lone still-connected string Bella's tie to her human life.

Well on the cover of Twilight the mansanas in the hands represents the "Forbidden fruit"From the bible tale Adam and Eve. In New Moon I think the wilting bulaklak represents Bella's broken heart. Or it could ipakita the with rose turning red and dripping Bella's blood from her horrid birthday party.
In Eclipse The torn ribbon is Bella's torn puso between Edward and Jacob. And finally in Breaking Dawn the cover shows Bella moving from simple pawn to Queen, of her new role.

New Moon: The bulaklak with the blood on it is when Bella falls at her party and gets blood all over the bulaklak that is the whole reason the Cullens leave to protect Bella.

i only know what 'breaking dawns' cover means, alittle. you know the chess pieces. there's a red one in the back and i think it represents Nessie and the white one in the front represents Bella. And the board represents the steps she has to take in the book and the hardships. it just a theory really. i'm not completly sure about the others. good tanong though. should have some interesting answers! :)

the twilight cover picture is the only one im completely sure of: it's the "forbidden fruit" like in the story of adam and eve, there's the prutas of temptation but they cant have it.
i've heard several suggestions for the others and i have a few of my own. i heard that the picture on the new moon cover stands for bella's weakness. the eclipse cover is rumored to represent the two sides of bella, edward and jacob. my reasoning for the breaking dawn cover is that the smaller red piece stands for the weaker, human bella (red for the color of blood). and the larger white piece for the new, stronger, less fragile bella (white, to represent the "bloodless" new body of bella). sorry i cant give you any further infomation, but im sure someone can help you out(:

There is also another element to the twilight cover. In the film there is an obvious shot where edward catches bella's fallen red mansanas and presents it to her with both hands, like on the book cover.
It seems quite symbolic of him offering her the choice between a Bampira life and a human life sa pamamagitan ng accepting the apple.

New Moon-when Edward leaves the bulaklak dies (like Edward's and Bella's love) then grows back new petals (their love).

Eclipse-one side of the ribbon is Edward the other side Jacob and Bella is holding on to both of them.

Breaking Dawn-both the red and white is Bella the red is Bella as a human as the weakest piece and the white is Bella as a vampire as the strongest piece.

They felt the fallen petal could also be interpreted to represent the drop of blood from Bella's paper cut in the first chapter.

Eclipse -- The not-quite-broken ribbon on the cover of Eclipse is a metaphor for Bella trying to leave her human life behind her, but being unable to make a clean break. There are some threads she is unable to cut - she can't completely divorce herself from her past.

Breaking Dawn -- The two chess pieces on the cover of Breaking Dawn both represent Bella. They ipakita her moving from the least significant player, the pawn, at the beginning of the Saga to the most important player, the queen, at the end of the series. The chessboard also hints at Breaking Dawn's resolution, where the battle with the Volturi is one of wits and strategy, not physical violence.
