If Jacob Black is not a "real" werewolf why does he imprint on Renesmee?

Seen as how Jacob and his pack are not mga asong lobo but instead shape shifters how does the imprinting work? Do real mga asong lobo imprint or not? I was very confused sa pamamagitan ng this.

I don't think that the "real werewolves" imprint. It's probably just a shapeshifters thing. The whole thing about actual mga asong lobo probably doesn't have anything to do with imprinting.

Imprinting is a part of the tribes legends, something originally believed to be very rare. Technically, it was never sinabi that it was a "real" werewolf trait. However, the tribe thought that they were real mga asong lobo until the Breaking Dawn.

Jacob and his pack imprint because they are shape-shifters not werewolves. The real mga asong lobo are moon people or something like that (as it was sinabi in Breaking Dawn) and they turn into mga lobo only when it's full moon. And I think that they are not as normal as Jacob's pack wolves. When they're mga lobo they are wild - they don't have any human instincts, just animal and they can't find humans attractive at all.
But I may be wrong. I wouldn't be surprised if all this was a big fat lie I just wrote. I apologize if it's like that!
